    I don't think six signings was actually mentioned. The reporter mentioned that Heckingbottom had identified six players.

    Transfer rules - there's nothing in there that says you only can sign one player per day.
    There could be just a few things that need to be lined up before a shed load of players are able to be signed.

    I'm not sure we need five more. Two or three would make a decent squad with the better u23s supplementing. We don't have the money to throw wages at, say, twenty eight or thirty first team players.

    About 23 or 24 fully fledged 'first team squad' - and then add support from the likes of jack Walton in an emergency, then Jacob brown, Ben Williams, josh kay, kayden Jackson, maybe even Louis wardle. And any other emerging u23 or u18s.

    Looking at what we have, (two keepers [and walton] eight defenders [ten with wardle and williams], nine midfield and wide players [eleven with bird and kay], but only three forwards [five with Jackson and brown]); and considering budget; I'd sooner bring in one or two high quality forwards in to finalise the squad than another five also rans.

    We look well covered in midfield areas, maybe not too many out and out wingers, hammill isgrove and hedges, but we have a fair few central players who can do a job out there too.

    I'm not sure carrying a squad including more than ten players who can't even make the bench is that sensible.

    That is of course unless we are planning on selling yids and/or anyone else. In which case replacements would be needed. A bit of experience at the back would be of use - but that won't happen, doesn't sit in the business model, so I can't expect it.

    Got our business done much earlier this year. You seriously didn't expect 15 signings in before the start of August did you? Some of that can't be dictated by our club.

    I think we need 2 strikers and a winger most importantly then perhaps a bit of cover

    I would be surprised if we didn't make 5 or more signings by the end of august though. Look at the number of late signings we made last summer

    I still think the squad is thinner than an Ethiopian in a drought but I don't expect to see us do much business now. In terms of numbers the only area we are not short is CB and ACM. Still lacking elsewhere.

    As I say, whatever will be will be.

    I think there's no doubt that we'll make the signings, however the club doesn't have much control over when they'll be completed. I personally would rather we stuck to our targets and got in the players we actually wanted. Even if that means waiting until their current club has decided they can leave on the 30th August.

    In my opinion anyway.
