Orsen is old, my friends! Anyway, amidst the thrills and excitement of the Cheltenham November Meeting (at which I will be in attendance tomorrow) don't overlook the all weather at Lingfield. In the Listed race at 3.15, GIFTED MASTER would be giving weight to the others if this were a handicap. Instead he receives weight from three of his opponents and goes off levels with all the rest bar one. The suitability of this track and distance are confirmed by Gifted Master's win in this race last year, and the wide draw should hold no fears given that his victory 12 months ago was from the widest berth of all (field of 10). I am head to head with Tom Segal ('Pricewise') here, who puts up Muthmir. But Muthmir's best form has been at 5 furlongs and his best performance is from over three years ago. Gifted Master is generally 5/2 and so long as he gets reasonable luck in running (always a factor at Lingfield) he rates a strong bet here for me.
Congrats and happy birthday Orsen. I’ll have a couple of quid on your tip and hopefully we’ll both have something to celebrate (on top of a Reds victory of course).
Happy birthday and good luck- Mrs Orsen has come up trumps with a day at the races birthday present. I like Ballyandy in the big race at Chelters. Insanely well handicapped if he learns how to jump.
