According to the BBC stats they've got Norwich down as 71% possession, may be I've been watching another game.
We're not a possession-based side. I don't know how I would accurately describe our style, we're never in a million years a long ball team either. However it's called, I fuxking love it!
Me too. Feeling excited for the Cardiff game now as well. Forget hoofball , let's pass it like we've done today.
It just proves that we got the ball forward quicker. Took us 3 seconds to get the ball into the last third, whereas it took them 7 seconds. Hence the 30% to 70%
Won’t be 71/29 possession on Wednesday. McCarthy won’t be having their defenders try to pass it out like that. Midfielders on both sides will need to work on their neck muscles in preparation
watched game, comm bloke was always on about the possession stats how it didn't reflect the game and how good we were, on flip side they missed 2 guilt edged chances but we hammered them 1-0
BT commentator emphasised that point POR re- "when was the last time top of the league Norwich were beaten and did not have a single shot on target.?" OK they put out a weakened side, but more fool them. You can only beat what's put in front of you and fair play to our boys they stuck to the game plan and prevailed. Really pleased for the team and the coaching staff. It's a distraction from the league, but the income that a good cup run can generate must be welcome to offset some of the losses we've incurred this season. Added interest now in tomorrow's tie between Luton and Chelsea. Hope the Hatters can do it. Come on you Reds.
Yes they paid the price for weakening the starting eleven. I'm sure that if they had their first choices out there the result would have been more in doubt, but we might still have won of course. Farke had some real riches to bring on in the second half but we didn't miss a beat and there was no way through us, apart from the odd lapse. If that had been played in front of 13,000 ecstatic Reds fans we would have all been saying "typical, Battling Barnsley cup tie against the odds". All credit to them for keeping up the pressure without a crowd cheering them on.
It was all round their own penalty area. They kept the ball for quite long periods while we pressed them.
All in their own half. Pressing game worked perfectly today. They could only pass it sideways and backwards and when they did play a forward ball we won it back within a few seconds.
