I know this is a bit wensdeh and I may end up with egg on my face but I am confident we are going to score goals this season - lots of em. Providing we don't sell either of our main strikers tomorrow, I think we will score 90+ goals this season, for only the fourth time in our history. And we haven't done that since just before the war! Our record is 118 goals in 42 games in 1933/34. Can't see us threatening that but I do think we're going to see lots of goals scored......maybe even as high as 100+. Am I dreaming?
88 in Bassett's season, when we seemed to be knocking goals in for fun. Conceded 67 mind. I suppose that's what happens when you release Arjan De Zeeuw, don't play Adie Moses, and replace them with Steve Chettle, David Tuttle and Keith Brown. I still maintain to this day that had De Zeeuw been a regular in that side we'd have gone up automatically, at a canter.
Last week I used my five pound free weekly bet with Skybet on us to get 90 plus league goals this season ticket 16/1. Looking good after the first game.
I'm going for a conservative 60-70... But if we can keep up the tempo and attacking nouse we showed in Saturday for the entire season it could be loads more.
Over 100 goals and over 100 points for me. Yes, I am getting carried away, but why not be excited about such a campaign?
