I don't see anyone else thinking he's fishing for compliments. This is something that happened last night at a football match, being posted on a football forum, and why the forum is here in the first place. If something like this happened, I want to read about it to shame the few Neanderthals we have who attend our matches. Not once did I see this post as fishing for compliments.

You're a joke. The strike was over 30 years ago and as I have already pointed out to you, but it seems you are unable to grasp basic facts, not all people from Nottingham were miners, never mind miners who didn't strike. So I ask you again, how do you justify saying that the hatred of people from Nottingham runs through our veins.

I've not put it on here to fish for compliments. Only to vent my pure disappointment in a select few of our fans but I suppose not everyone sees it that way.......obviously. maybe you should keep your opinions to yourself too....hey?

    Well done for helping him.

If dickheads want to start fights with other dickheads then fair enough they can crack on with it but I hate seeing fans cause trouble with people who don't want anything to do with it.

And the other thing is - we won! Why on earth is anyone wanting to cause trouble when they should be buzzing after a hard fought, entertaining win like that

I'm not insinuating you were involved ffs.

It's the mindless attitude you displayed of "we must victimise the many for what a few did", a long time ago at that. There's enough hate and tarring large groups of people with the same brush in the world at the moment, we don't need yet another example.

Nicely done Royston - sat with old lads who were all out for the full year on strike last night - they despair at young'uns who weren't even born in the 80's banging on about scabs - and that lot for singing 'sign on'. Sloppy cnuts, the lot of em.

Don't know what you mean by out of line tbh
You made. Comment and I contested it ,that's all there is to it you have your reasons I gave mine no need to make out I was berating you.
As for someone getting on at you for taking a Brazil flag in I find that really bizaar tbh and saying you should be taking one with a headgear in is ' well I don't know what to say other than are you sure he wasn't ribbing you in a jovial mood.vos if he wasn't hes not only a minority but a minority of a minority imo.
Don't know what your apologising for you post what you see fit but don't get too disheartened or insulted if someone challenges it .

but simply by saying you understand it you are in a way condoning it, in the same way as an apology that ends with a "but..." is NOT an apology.

So in your warped mind, it would be understandable for someone to hate all Japanese and never forgive because their dad/grandad/uncle etc. was once a prisoner of war (where many barbaric acts were committed far worse than strike breaking) . Many captors themselves DID forgive by the way.

The same applies to Germans and Austrians - would you hate all of those and "understand" why an England fan might attack them because of their nationality? I really fail to understand the difference.

How long does this "never forgive" go on? One generation?, two generations?, three?, four? five? Let's teach our kids to hate shall we for generation after generation?

    Cretin!

It was late fella, I was tired and I'd commented on something I usually to stay away from as I appreciate people have very strong opinions about something I know little about.

The attack had nothing to do with the chant full stop.
The never forgive never forget will go on I should think as there's still miners who have never worked by being blacklisted since the strike ,but I don't need to explain that to a arrogant person such as yourself.

Hopefully when we have Brexit it includes foreign messages appearing on our forums

    Edit that
Certain Italian messages on our board

The attack was cowardly and should no way be condoned.

But the "scab" chant seems to have transcended into simply being a derogarate nickname for the Nottingham clubs, rather than relating to the strike(for the younger fans anyway).

To many, it's no different to chanting "Dee Daa" to the Sheffield clubs.

Personally, I'm not sure how I feel about it, but that's the way it is....

Firstly my rant was aimed at Tyrone and not you
Secondly I have not alluded to any connection between the chant and the attack
Thirdly call me arrogant but I am simply pointing out the hypocritical nature of people who cry racist at every opportunity but declare a hatred towards all people from Nottinghamshire and imply that many people from Barnsley and Yorkshire mining communities feel the same. I would also rather be arrogant than someone who bears a grudge for the rest of his/her life for something that happened over thirty tyears ago and blame people who were not even born at the time, visiting the sins of the fathers upon the sons' I believe is the phrase.

As for your personal attack on me and and the last laughable sentence in your post, I wont even bother to respond.

Then that makes you as bad as the morons who wanted to attack somebody just because they support a different team. Your attitude is appalling.

Are you incapable of understanding English? Nobody has said it was anything to do with you (do I need to repeat this). Your statement that 'we' hate people from Nottingham, that it was understandable because he was from Nottingham and that you don't condemn the actions of the idiots means that you are just as bad. Let me stress once more that your attitude is appalling.

I counted three contradictions in that post .
Because you don't understand why people still feel aggrieved after thirty years no one should ?
You think miners working in Notts during strike was a sin ? Well it happens so do lots of others on this board.
Personal attacks and insults ,what were you doing to Tyrone ?
You don't think people who are still being victimised even today by secret blacklists held by unscrupulous Corperates bosses aided by Tory insiders should hold a grudge?
Thatcher held a grudge her whole political career and when the true papers are released in probably not my lifetime they'll be bigger grudges held by relatives and townspeople that have been affected.

    PS

To many it's nothing more than a football chant.
Morons use any excuse to cause trouble as had been stated many times on here which you choose to ignore to justify your rant.
