On another day, we may not have come away a win. However, I still maintain that at this stage of the season, it's the result that counts, nothing else. Shrewsbury were one of the better teams I've seen at Oakwell. It was good to see Kieffer back and he was causing problems for their defence from the off. Two excellent goals from Mowatt (with his right foot, too!) and Brown. Young Jacob is getting into quite a nice habit of scoring crucial goals recently. My MOTM, though, was Adam Davies. Not at our best today, but three very welcome points. I'll happily settle for the same against Plymouth, Blackpool & Bristol Rovers.
Not the cleanest side, Shrews, but well organised.. Met some smashing fans on the train. Wished us the best... Gave you a wave when leaving PONTY old pal. Don't think you saw me.. I've lost a lot of timber. Harder to spot..!!
Very little between the teams, both making silly defensive errors. Think we had more quality in open play, they had the better set piece delivery. Moore showed us what we have missed, someone to knock a few defenders about and cause trouble.
I'm ever so sorry, old mate. You're right, I didn't see you. I think I've got the vision of your average mole!
I quite enjoyed the match, we've seen Coventry, Fleetwood and Shrewsbury come at us, and whilst our performances have been mixed, it's made for a decent competitive game. I thought Davies was our man of the match, and I thought McGeehan put a hell of a shift in. He might not be at the level he was at before his suspension, but he's playing a slightly different /deeper role, but he performed with an absolute will to win the game today, his work rate was as good as anyone this season. We'll need more of that in the remaining games.
