Hibernian are expected to sign Luke Berry for £250,000. I'm certain when we sold the lad back to Cambridge a couple of years ago, Ben Mansford insisted we had a sell on agreement were Luke to sold for a profit in the future. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...eing-fee-for-luke-berry-from-cambridge-united
Very bizarre move that. I'm sure his bird hated it up north. I fully expected another championship club to come in for him, I thought he was a cracking little player.
I'd be gobsmacked if Cambridge signed the lad from us for a quarter of a million pounds, or anywhere near that figure.
Didn't we agree a really low fee to let him go back to Cambridge but a very high sell on percentage? Basically helped the lad out as he was desperate to get back down to Cambridge but protected us in the future if he was sold on. £250k seems very low for him after his form last year. Expected a champ club to have gone in for him. Clearly a talented boy, if he goes to a club he settles at (and isn't played on right wing)
I hope your right, but given the fact that we bought him from Cambs there will have been outstanding instalments meaning the fee from Cambs to us (incl sell on profits) plus back to them and hence onwards to His may mean there isn't that much profit. whatever it is £5K - £50K sell on, its all good. Lets also hope Spurs sign Mawson too.
