Didn't answer phone (land-line) - listened to message - (caller didn't say where she was from) informed me that £600 had been taken from my account I should check bank account asap.

Straight away phoned bank - keyed in sort code and account number - about to key in my 4 digit banking code when it occurred to me the scammers?? could have access to this converation so I put perceiver down.

    Was I being over-cautious/too suspicious?

There is an o2 scam going on at the minute as well. Texts are going round saying you are ready for an upgrade when you aren't. I just deleted the text.

Had the same call last week. Checked my accounts online no withdrawals so ignored. The obvious indication for me was no mention of bank or account details.

That in itself should ring alarm bells. Scam, all day long.

You can never be too cautious. They caught my mum out.

Go to the bank in person, or I think you are at risk of being scammed.

I would say it’s a scam. But if you PM me all of your details that they asked for I will do a personal check for you. Just as a fellow and friendly Barnsley supporter. :D:D

Got to be stupid to get caught out by one of these scams. Won't matter to me soon won the Nigerian lottery last week. Just had to send them £200 to facilitate the release of funds. I'll be a millionaire by Monday.

No one will ever call you from your bank anyway. A letter is the normal way of conversing.

If you want a laugh at some call scammers expense, watch Kitboga on Twitch or his Youtube vids. Wastes their time for hours and hours every day.

Not true actually, I’ve been called by my bank when potential fraud has been detected. They tend to alert you, then ask you to call back from the number on their website so you know it’s legitimate.

    How my bank work anyway.

Lots of people don't trust online banking or shopping, but in instances like this it's a 30 second job to log in and check whether funds have been taken.
