Being interviewed on Radio Sheffield, Chien Lee went into Nice and changed nothing in terms of the staff. Could set us in good stead as we seem to have a backroom that reflects the playing staff also. Says that he's likely to want to send young players from Nice to develop themselves at Barnsley. We'll see how that goes. With that, we'd either be taking on cast offs who haven't made it in the French top tier, or decent young talent on loan. Not sure what to make of that, but I suppose it's early days.
That’s exactly what happened the season that Watford went up into the Premier League. They were full of players bought/loaned from Udinese and Granada.
Well I'm going to guess, they aren't going to palm us off with cack, although they didn't get as far as the Champions League proper, you would put them as a mid-premier league team i.e better than Swansea, not as good as Liverpool - they are bound to have quality to loan us better then we've had this season - although the move from Nice to Barnsley might be a tricky one to sell.....
We could become a feeder club for Nice.... don't forget. Some of our up and coming talent (!) could well be heading in that direction. Not a tricky one to sell !
You can imagine the scene in the Nice boot room. Young lads being considered for a 6 month loan to Angleterre. "Ou est le Barnselee? Est-ce que il est tout pres Londres? Non? Trois cent kilometres au nord? No way, Monsieur le coach. Noooooooo way!!!!!
As long as they can get work permits - surely if Brexit is to stop foreigners coming over here taking our jobs it applies to footballers the same as window cleaners and plumbers?
