There were several other interested parties other than the current consortium. Funny int it? Not one scrap of interest in fourteen years and as soon as a buyer is needed, Cryne finds one. Must be serendipity or summat
I follow your posts questioning the leadership of the club with interest and agree with your stance from time to time, so this is not intended as a dig or an effort to fall out with you, but I'm just wondering what you think the owners ulterior motive was in not finding a buyer for 14 years?
Pretty much since PC bought it I reckon. He saved the club but it was never his intention to own it for this long.
Is it also the first tome we’ve been cash rich? Clubs been running at a loss for many years which might explain why there’s suddenly more interest. And with Cryne’s illness he might have reduced the asking price
I don't think there was an ulterior motive as such. I just don't think he wanted to sell. It would be interesting to see how many takeovers there have been amongst the 92 clubs since 2003.
That's a million miles away from the reality of the situation. BFC have had numerous suitors throughout PC's tenure but for one reason or another it hasn't worked out, in part due to PC's overriding objective of safeguarding BFC's future and not wanting to see his beloved club fall into the wrong hands.
Personally I dont think it's that he didnt want to sell, more that he had high expectations for any incoming party (not so much in a financial sense, more in the safety of the club going forward).
Lol !!! I know what yer saying here. The only reason there hasn't been a sale before now = Mr Cryne. In saying that - the interest is there because Patrick has kept a tight ship - so it's a snip at the price.
