Agreed Bradshaw is having a good game too, and Moncur is doing OK too.... Our only problem is our naivety and lack of XP... One old head to lead and this side could be really good.
If Hammill gets more chances to start in games, I think we'll see him get back to his best. It will be like another new signing for us.
Hammill is good enough for this level, didn't have a very good season last year for one reason another but he's definite starter for me
Potts is a very recent addition to the squad. Give him a chance to settle in and get to learn the other players games. If Hecky has seen reason to add him then that just fine by me.
I think he's playing with renewed determination. Said in his recent article in the Chronicle that he's got nothing to prove, but his performance tonight contradicted that statement. Well played AH. He just needs to keep performing week in week out now and he could be a big player for us this season.
Hammill on the right is the key. He does less fancy stuff/stepovers than on the left and just gets a quality ball in at first opportunity. We look much better for it. Linking well with McCarthy too.
They look to be forming a good partnership. I'm not sure about him being better on the right though. He does still cut inside but is less effective on his left side. He does whip in a great cross with his right foot.
Its always looked like the obvious thing to us, and hopefully Hecky is realising now what an asset to the team Hammill is. The 'find' of the season so far though has to be Hedges, and he was right there under our noses all along lol.
That tackle when he tracked back in the first half. Last season would have been a nailed on booking / sending off. He's added a bit of maturity to his game. Had a great game again tonight.
Hammill has been excellent, one of the very few that is a proper barnsley red. I would be extending his contract. Top lad top player.
I hope Hecky pointed out Hammill's performance to each of the newbies in the dressing room afterwards and told them that's the benchmark of where we want you to be at - in terms of effort, determination and steel as much as anything. Luckily for us, Adam also has exceptional talent on the ball as well. Truly a joy to watch tonight.
That's the reason why his name would be first on the team sheet His attitude is exceptional and he leads by example. We need a few more of his ilk. Oh and he is a match winner.
