Just said same elsewhere. Strong lad and decent touch. Get him up front. Hope Hedges isn’t too badly injured. Already needed at least one winger.
With Bradshaw still apparently not at the races and not interested maybe, Im wondering if we could have tried Thiam & Adeboyejo up front a bit more in these friendlies. However, would either of them manage to play off Moore or are they too similar ?.
Not at all. His layoff to Moore was superb and should have been a goal, he did brilliantly to hold onto the ball, beat two men and thread a little ball through but nobody was running into the danger area. Admitadly after beating 3 men he tried to shoot when he should have passed to Cavare for a simple goal, but at least he had a go. Not bad for a lad stepping up from U23s to first team. Really promising showing.
Thought he looked what he is, raw and needing time to adapt and bed himself in to a step up. I don't think he's ready yet and i'd be wary throwing him in because its a new name so akin to a signing. Patience, let him develop around the first team squad. I do think we need a goalscorer though. With Moore, the temptation is hoof, and with Mowatt and Dougall showing as they did, I think we have enough talent to actually pass the ball through there now.
Vic looks raw and inexperienced but with some potential. But a winger he ain’t. Hope the Fuhrer doesn’t make our usual mistake of playing him (or others) out of position. It just doesn’t work.
I did not say he was the finished article, I agree with what you say. But I saw lots of potential in him. He passed well and won the ball often, he can only get better. I really think he has a great future ahead of him.
He defiantly isn't the finished article he is 20 years old ffs. I think he will be behind Bradshaw and moore this season but for someone to say he is "just crap" is a joke.
Didn't infer you suggested he was a finished article either. All too easy for people to clamour for a young kid to be included that hammer them when they don't deliver. I think i'd rather keep him than loan him out and ease him in gently. Patience, time and coaching and we'll see how he develops.
He is not good enough for the first team. Nothing today suggests anything other than that he might soon well be.
The way I see it is that if he was on loan he'd play every week. I wish we would give our youngsters the same first team games as we do other clubs kids
To be fair if we were being picky nothing today suggested that Moore or Bradshaw were ready for the first team either.
We don't always seem to have our loaned out players playing as much for their adopted teams, and agree, can't see value getting young players in on loan, much rather have a quality player who can inspire our youngsters rather than other young uns blocking paths
