I saw him earlier doing some light training on the training pitches down at Oakwell. Do you think he will be offered a contract?
Can't see it, unless he agrees to do some sort of pay-as-you-play contract. Not many footballers like doing that though
Very good footballers but as the Tree-Frog said above, it would have to be pay-as-you-play or a very low wage.
Apologies for taking the thread slightly away from the OP but the reference to "pay as you play" reminded me of this article that I read re ex MUFC youngster Bojan Djordjic a while back. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ol-pay-Manchester-United-old-boy-90-week.html
I'd definitely take a punt on him on this basis. When fit he's a competent player but fitness is a major issue.
I'd agree with you on that, mate. 100%. I would like to see the continuation of Pearson, Mccarthy & Fryers but personally would welcome White back with open arms. Even if it is just a PAYP contract for when he regains fitness & perhaps moves on if he can't force his way back in the side regularly.
Let's be right, going forward, he made a nice partnership with Hammill, but when it came to his principal job of defending, any wide player over 12st and 5'10", completely dominated him physically. Just not big enough or strong enough in the current world of football giants.
Did great for us but no chance of him coming back. Once Yiadom goes in Jan we’ve got Fryers & Pearson for left back & if both were out if imagine they’ll use Tom Williams from the development squad. Can’t really see us paying the wages of 3 first team left backs. He lives at Woolley Edge & his doing his rehab with the club. I’ve seen him in the background of a couple of behind the scenes videos in the past few months so it’s a strange one
I've always thought of White as someone of similar size and stature as Fryers and Golbourne. I may be wrong though, I haven't actually looked at their stats.
Nope. If Yiadom leaves it'll be for a decent fee and I'd hope we'd use some of that to be signing a good young left back better than White.
We’ve got 5 full backs already so I don’t think we’d bother offering him a deal. Nice that we’re helping him to get fit though!
I don't see any point in offering the former Leeds and Rotherham player a contract as we already have enough cover in that area.
