    I would have thought that banning rallies of any purport would be an operational matter for the police, not a matter falling under the mayor's overarching duty to set policing and crime policy. So any thinly disguised sneers suggesting that Mayor Khan is favouring adherents of his own religion look to me to be entirely without substance. Given his unequivocal statements after the London terrorist attacks, they are also totally unworthy.
