Am I the only one that doesn't enjoy the championship?

I just find I have a much more enjoyable time watching the games in League 1. I'd love to be in the Premiership, but I find the championship to just be not enjoyable. Maybe my opinion will change next year. I'll still get my season ticket, of course, no matter what league we're in.

I'm not a massive fan of derby games, either, can't be dealing with the mayhem it causes getting to and from the stadium.

Maybe i'm just an old *******, but I guess I just don't go to games for the 'atmosphere' anymore, but to watch my team playing well and winning games.

It's always nice to see the team winning, but I will be looking forward to going into the championship with owners who have the financial backing to allow us to really compete (and hold a solid team together) in the league. I don't know why, but I'm quietly optimistic the upcoming seasons may be better than seasons we've had in the Championship in recent years.

I cant wait to get back to the championship mind, (hopefully that is this season) love the derby games and the atmosphere they bring.

The only thing I'm not looking forward to is paying 30+ every other week to go places like Ipswich. Oh and nearly 40 quid for a restricted viewing seat at that horrible place in Sheffield. But aside the ticket pricing the championship is a great place to be.

So you'd rather play Wycombe Wanderers with 250 away fans in the north stand than a packed Oakwell against Leeds United or Sheffield Wednesday?

I always want to see my club perform at as high a level as possible. However, that doesn't stop me from enjoying what's been a great season, so far, as well as the second half of the 2015/16 campaign.

Depends if it’s miserable like most of the last 10 years we have played in the championship you can keep it. This season I’m enjoying more than any I can remember ( as a full season rather than the half season sprint under Hecky)

If the team play well and win, it doesn’t matter which league we are in.

League One has been more enjoyable recently, but only because of the wins, as we are seen as one of the biggest clubs in this league. In the Championship, we’re one of the smaller teams.

I prefer the championship to league 1. Bigger crowds, more at stake, more scalps to be taken and egos to dent.

If the owners can follow through on their suggestions of increasing revenues, selling players and replacing with better, I'd hope in future this allows us to compete better than the strangled attempts to avoid relegation.

It's understandable that our most recent Championship campaigns have left a sour taste for some fans (myself included tbh). But it's important to remember that it hasn't always been so. We've had some cracking seasons at second tier level over the years and I'm quietly confident that we will again.

We have a decent manager, the basis of a strong squad and, it feels like, an upward trajectory. We'll need to strengthen further in the summer or at the very least add more depth to the squad, but fingers crossed we're on the way back to being a solid Championship outfit.

I've seen some really boring crap games this season at Oakwell. Plymouth, AFC Wimbledon, Southend, Bristol Rovers, Rochdale. I must have missed some cracking games in between.

That’s because you’ve experienced about 12 years of being the Championships yo-yo club.
    Nothing built.
    Nothing sustained.
That’s 12 years of neither going forward, backwards or even sideways.

It will be different next time.
Although I don’t think there will be immediate success - but then again there might be.

Maybe? I don't know, honestly. If it's an entertaining game, I think i might, yes. For me the atmosphere/day/crowd are secondary to the game. Does that make me a shitty football fan? probably, honestly. Guess i've fallen out of love with the spectacle of it all.

Got to be honest like championship games but enjoying league 1 this season obviously because of form we are in but couldn't wait to be in premiership but once there in my opinion it just didn't deliver atmosphere for myself wasn't there mainly away home games were pretty good didn't miss home or away all season same as many just my opinion

I love a derby but I've also enjoyed going to Accrington. I'm hoping we can get wins in the Championship , keep this form up and then who knows?

I never said it makes you a shitty football fan.

I'd rather see my team play at the highest level possible.

Growing up in the nineties Division One had a totally different feel to the Championship nowadays. Watching teams like Tranmere, Stockport and Crewe, among others, it was a proper footballing league. Now it's a mini-premiership full of clubs cheating.

If the opportunity came along to play in a league with a salary cap, with no promotion possible, but the chance to play good, honest teams like Bradford, Donny, Charlton, maybe now Blackpool I'd take it. No chance of the glamour of getting battered by a bunch of cheats, just proper football. No ambition me.

Thoroughly enjoyed first half of first season back in championship last time.

Didn't enjoy watching us get routinely beaten after that though.

Huddersfield fans will no doubt be saying similar about the premier league.

I never understand those who bleat about relegation being the "worst thing ever that could happen to the club".

It doesn't really matter what league were in to me as long as theres' something to play for. I'd rather have the emotional rollercoaster of a relegation and promotion battle year on year than 20 years of mid table mediocrity like we had in the 80's and 90's.
