Me too. We could use that money for paying off **** like Potts and Thiam. Get it sorted GG. Or maybe it's a big opportunity for a French man who has done bugger all in management so far.
Getting in a native of the country he's the boss in, that he's got a vast history of. Don't know why they don't want the same ideas with us.
He's from France though and is going to have kept up about what's happening in French football. Really good appointment for them. Just surprised they don't have the same idea of what a head coach should be with us, to their other club.
OGC Nice is their jewel in the crown. They've sold almost £40 million worth of players since taking over. We are a bit of cubic zirconia on their finger.
Just because he had a good playing career has no real reflection on his coaching / managerial ability.. It's probably quite an expensive gamble.
They also made millions from their Champions League season, but our Premier League riches would far outweigh anything Nice could earn.
Really? It seems that they have a pretty similar idea to me. In both cases they have appointed an ex-player in their early forties whose only management experience has been one job in a foreign league.
Those were the days. FA Cup semi final, some really good foreign players to compliment our British lads and keeping us in the championship every year. Didn't matter that he wasn't likeable.
Davey's teams would struggle to get 20 points in last season's championship IMO. It's a much higher quality league now
I have to say I attach almost zero credit to Simon Davey for getting us to the Cup semi final. But for Luke Steele we'd have lost by three or four goals at Anfield and against Chelsea...well it shouldn't have taken much to motivate the team for that match and we slugged it out for a victory. In the semi when faced with a beatable opponent he was completely unable to influence the game.
We should have got something against Cardiff. If Nardiello had had the point blank chance that Kayode missed, we could well have taken it to extra time.
