No wonder he wouldn't support the people campaigning for justice over Orgreave. He knew what he'd said and that the police were right in his case.

The policeman was sentenced to 12 months for misconduct in a public office for falsing claiming to have witnessed it.

So, Mitchell was lying and the police were lying. What is the truth?

The policeman who was sacked claimed to have been there and wasn't which doesn't mean Mitchell didn't say what he was alleged to have said. The police officers giving evidence in this libel case were there and the judge found that on the balance of probability they were telling the truth and Mitchell did say what he did. I'm not seeing any conflict there as to who was telling porkies as clearly both could have been.

Through work I come not contact with MPS on all sides of the political fence. Mitchell is not representative of MPS in general just a nasty short tempered bully and you get the,m in all walks of life I suppose

The problem is that I feel they lie to get into power, the cannot give a straight answer to a normal question, and they are in general completely out of touch with the electorate. Since the expenses scandal and the recent outrageous incidents such as their pay rises I have never felt so distant from the political elite.
