Seems a decent guy who has come through the leagues to manage the club he always supported. Dislike the club, but this is due to their recent behaviour, rather than that of Wilder's.
Whatever ones views on Sheffield United Chris Wilder is obviously doing things right for his beloved Blades to snipe and deride his success is utterly futile the only person it upsets is the person doing the sniping I dont mind the banter between rival supporters but I'd like to think I'm wise enough to see recognise and congratulate anyone for doing a good job and hes certainly doing that they've had a bad few years and as we know football at our level along with a lesser financial wherewithal is a fluctuating thing regarding divisional status so suck it up and give credit when credit is due
It’s only going to last for x amount of time. Once they go on a bad run they will be calling for his head aka like every fan of every other football club.
Wilder is a Blade just like Hecky is a Red. I might not be much of a Sheff Utd fan but I can identify with where they are as a club right now. A bit like where we were after winning at Forest on New Year's Day.....in Dreamland. Ours got broken up but I suspect they'll support him a lot better & they could go the distance. At least it's not Wednesday with their over the top spending.....I have a helluva lot more dislike of them.......
Still they'll be near the bottom end of the div ision at end o season,. More time for them and their fans than Wednesday . Worst club and dumbest fans intnorth bar none
They might be rivals, but you can't help but admire Wilder's style and what he's achieved at a club that has been difficult to achieve with.
Like others have said, I can’t stand Sheff Utd but there’s no denying Wilder is doing a fantastic job and got them playing good football. Not sure whether they’ll keep it up but he/they should enjoy the ride after years in the pub league.
He's done damn well for them and hats off to the blades I keep expecting the wheels to fall off but they keep getting results. I always disliked them, but Wilder is annoyingly likeable and I can't help but be happy that a local lad is doing well at his club. Football is being ruined all over, but people like Hecky and Wilder let the fans feel a part of it still. Connected. Good luck to them tonight. Would rather they win than Leeds!
I can only echo other posts above. Bloke seems a decent guy, who is a genuine supporter. SUFC have made some decisions I deplore, but I can't blame him for them.
Seems a good manager just like ours , hope this takeover can give Hecky more cash to improve team and kick on again
Agree, I was always fairly ambivalent towards the Blunts (unlike the Wendies who I hated with a passion) until a certain Ex-Red attempted brain surgery at Oakwell and the club closed ranks and defended the indefensible.
No side I dislike more, but credit where it's due. We showed them what can be done with a young hungry team and a lifelong fan in charge, they copied it and got promoted. Now instead of selling their stars like we did they are handing them four year contracts. Plus they brought in a couple of older heads to add some much needed experience to the squad to pass on to the less experienced players.
