If you thought Tunisia were bad, Iran are taking it to a whole new level.

Funnily turning this into an interesting match to watch.

Yep. Spain really have to win. A win against a Moroccan team with something to prove is not guaranteed.

    Fair play to them.

Wish Barnsley would be a bit more like Iran, or Iceland. No respect, get at them, make life hell.

Carlos has them well drilled - you can't expect them to go balls out against Spain.

Glad they lost after that first half of Anti football. Love an underdog story but not when they do that. Most of 1st half it was a flat back 6 with no pressure on ball. They all literally ran back into their own half so they could have everyone back, not to mention the shocking play acting all half. When Spain scored they actually had a go and looked a threat which makes it more annoying as if they would have had a go from start it could have been a good game and they could have won.

Same with Iceland vs Argentina. They defended from the off with no intent and then once Aguero scored they had a go and scored after around 5 mins but instantly went back to ultra defensive mode. The Argentina defence is by far the worst part of that side why not keep having a go at them and try beat them instead of settling for a point. I hate these nations coming and just wanting to defend to sneak a point.

It’s a World Cup, against one of the best teams, what are they supposed to do, think of the viewers at home or give themselves the best chance they could?
No excuse for play acting though

They are clearly not a bad side otherwise they would not qualify, they beat other sides to be here presumably by not playing like that. And they showed that they are good enough to be here as they cause Spain problems during the second half and created chances and nearly scored a few. I am not saying they should all go hell for leather so we see teams getting smashed but they should show some intent.

Look at Mexico, the got bodies behind the ball but kept players up so they could counter and then got bodies forward to support and tried to score from kick off. They did that and then went a little more defensive as the game wore on but even in the dying minutes they still committed players to attack.

The best chance would have been to try and score a goal and then hold that instead of defending a 0-0 against one of the best passing teams around surely?

Will be interesting to see how they approach Portugal, almost certainly needing to win whereas Portugal need a draw.

Will be, Would have thought they would have tried to beat Spain last night as though they are a great side, beating them last night would have seen Iran through and all but knocked Spain out and then pressure would be off for last game but they chose to try and be super defensive and it failed.

Portugal will beat them now as they are a well organised side that defend well so if Iran do try and attack them they will struggle to break them down and then Ronaldo will be up top to stick any chances away. Poor game management has cost them a chance in next round IMO.
