The complete lack of experience we have now we sold our entire promotion squad is worrying. They were inexperienced at this level but had been together a fair while. This squad has no experience no mature players no strikers and not been together 5 mins
If you can play football no matter who is included in your team in time you should come good. If Hecky and Jamie can get them to gel together being an "unknown" factor might work to our advantage for the first few games , because opponents will not know how to "neutralise" us. I honestly wouldn't read too much into last nights draw at Guiseley. With some additional firepower upfront with what we've put together so far if they can play together as a unit of course we should be OK.!
Hecky is getting as frustrated as we are. http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foot...-eager-to-step-up-recruitment-drive-1-8646452
We are going to take some serious hammerings while these players get used to playing together & in this league, only question is if they find their feet in time or just in time for teams that aren't relegated to take them. All the club is bothered is about is a couple of extra mill in the bank, their actions in the last 10 months suggest they'd not be too upset to see us relegated and leave us ticking over as a selling club in league 1.
You act like we've signed Kennedy and Wiseman's. We've signed some young promising players as well as Isgrove and strikers to come. Could take soem time to gel but don't think the future is as depressing as you are making out
What a load of tosh, do you honestly think that the club would be better off financially in division one ? I"m sure the club think the exact opposite & what evidence do you have that we are going to take some serious hammerings ?
Not to mention approx £5 million TV/League money plus lower gates, yes very shrewd business to be relegated. ( not )
We wouldn't need that money in League One though. We would need to spend a higher percentage of our income to compete in the Championship than in the division below. Why waste money trying?
You think we're now incurring an extra £5 million in costs each year that we weren't in league 1? Not to mention the additional amount you can receive in transfer fees for an established championship player compared to an established league 1 player. Give over.
You are obviously on the wind up, so it is pointless debating . As for your theory, if you are suggesting clubs would be better off financially in division one as opposed to the championship, then everyone would be scrapping to get relegated !
No. If we have any intentions of being competitive long term then we would need to do so. Probably easier to be a bigger fish in a small pound and spend 70% of our turnover in League One than to try and compete with Notts Forest or Ipswich for Championship survival.
I asked you last week for the Conan blueprint on how you would put things right at Oakwell , to which you are clearly not happy with , however you did not reply but I now take it that returning to division one is part of your plan, interesting to say the least.
