Gone to Meerkat impersonator Carvalhal. Five wins by a single goal margin taking 19 points from 7 games and remaining unbeaten during April.
Big question. If he doesn't take them up will he survive.?

He will move on by mutual consent.

I just hope they don't look in our direction.

Fully agree CT. Doug O'Kane's piece in today's Chronicle makes worrying reading but Hecky's sound bytes infers he's up for the challenge and will roll his sleeves up for the job ahead.

His contract with us is up at the end of June so it would be great if we can keep him out of Wednesday or any other Club's clutches for that matter by getting him signed up asap. I would love to see him put pen to paper on a longer deal instead of a one year rolling arrangement. Having said all of that it appears that Contracts are not worth the paper they are written on these days.!

Can't see hecky going wednesday he is one of us isn't he? Would be a real kick in the teeth for the fan base. Least Wilson had a big wednesday connection before he went. Not satin hecky wont ever go but can't see it been a rival club.

I hope your'e right. He did play for them briefly but I don't think he would have a stronger "pull" towards them in deference to us. I have got this feeling that Patrick might be looking to ensure the Clubs future given his unfortunate medical condition.

As some of the other posters have said it would be great if we could find someone with healthy investment with a genuine love for the Club. If we could find that person get a good team together and keep it together that just might enthuse Hecky enough for him to commit to the Club for future.

Yes he did play for them briefly but I honestly can't see it happening. Patrick has done great for this club and town when no one wanted to come near us I was hoping the cryne family would carry the baton on but that looks highly unlikely. Hopefully someone comes forward with a passion for the club/town and some money to invest. My only worry is us ending up with some celinio/Venky ect and they come in and want their own manager.

I'd play for the National Socialists if they paid enough money, can't see why Hecky wouldn't do the same if given the opportunity, wouldn't begrudge him a chance to manage at a higher level if he got the chance, it's when our managers take sideways steps that it bugs me.

I spoke to Hecky last week at the national nipsy championships and he says that it's 100% that he'll be moving to Leeds or Wednesday at the end of the season. Apparently the cryne family are investing in Sheffield Utd and forest are signing glavin.

Wrong. His contract is never up. It's a one year rolling contract.

A rolling contract usually has a review period where each party sits down and discusses performance/target levels and mutually agrees to either roll the contract over or terminate it viz: it involves an agreed period of notice as opposed to a specific date.
They are becoming flavour of the month in the private sector.

Cynically perhaps some employees describe them as " the amount of time before you are told you no longer have a job".
Notice periods can vary from 1 day to 6 months. I would think that Hecky has some safeguards in his deal but typically for the ordinary guy in the street whilst not being as bad as a zero hours contract they mean there is no security of employment which could also lead to no paid holidays and no chance of getting a mortgage or obtaining credit.

I thought he was on a rolling contract. It just gets better. If I were Hecky I'd be looking for some massive assurances before putting pen to paper.

I feel sure there will be safeguards in there CT. But as their name implies the contract can be " rolled" over ( usually in 12 month tranches) until one of the two parties wants to alter/end the terms of the agreement.
I am sure Patrick is an honourable man and I'm also sure Hecky has his head screwed on and it must have been right for him otherwise he wouldn't have signed it.

I was trying to expand on Ryhill Tykes posting when he said that the contract was never up.
It is, its reviewed annually and this current deal expires on the 30 th June 2017.

So the most important thing before the new season starts is to hear that on his return from New York with his missus and a well earned break with his kids he will be staying with us. His comments thus far indicate he is and he's up for the massive challenge ahead. We must let him know that for the majority of us he is appreciated and is shaping up as one of the best we have ever had. The only plus point I can see in his rebuilding job is that for the first 10 or so games into the new season we will be an unknown entity as far as any opposition is concerned so we might be able to capitalise on that and get some points on the board. Flip side God forbid is like Machins team when he re-built they play as if they've never met before. !!!!

If he doesn't get them up he will be sacked and rightly so. The owner wanted premier league in two years, the manager gave him massive resources to make it happen and so if he fails a second time that will be the end of it.

As for Hecky nobody wanted him when we had our amazing first half of the season, so clubs aren't going to be looking at the boss of a team with one home win since boxing day who have barely picked up a point all year and dropped like a stone in the league.

I thought a 12 month rolling contract means that until one party serves notice 'he' always has 12 months remaining?

I understood a 1 year rolling contract to mean that there is always a year left on it at any point in time. Hence Robins originally being given 12 months notice.

Technically that's right. In all honesty we can't really offer comment on our Managers contract because we haven't seen it. However there must be some caveats in there that "protect" each parties interests.?

I would assume there will be parameters that outline Paul's obligations if for example a rival comes in and offers him a deal that we can't match that secures his and his families future.

Conversely should things go disastrously wrong i.e. a prolonged losing streak that he is unable to arrest , the Club must have recourse to some kind of remedial action. Surely if we don't win a game between August and December we are not saying we have to wait until the anniversary of his contract viz: 30 th June the following year are we.?

When you say nobody wanted him, betting was suspended for him for the Norwich job, and he was heavily touted to be in the frame for the Forest job. Gladly neither happened, but these so called big clubs wanting the big name managers can fail, and often does. Zola being the best example.
