It either inspires or upsets the karma for the start of the season. I must admit I prefer a winning pre season, it means you've not only won but scored more goals than you've conceded. Surely that is preferable to inquests into narrow or otherwise defeats to non league teams.
Hasn't it followed pretty consistently in the past that poor pre season leads to a good season, and vice versa?
I remember in 2009 we had a brilliant pre season; won every game but one which was a draw against Man City. We looked fantastic. Then we went on to get 1 point from the first 5 games and Dave was sacked Was very encouraged personally by the last two games but results don't matter at all
