I have to say that despite the many issues surrounding the club for the last 12 months if not longer, where everything and everyone involved at the club has come in for some form of criticism, last weekend felt really refreshing. Not just because of the win, though that pretty much nails everything else. Results are the driver of everything to a football fan. We can try and deny it but it's the truth. The issues I've seen raised on here and in other places online, some have been unbelievable. Unbelievable because they aren't even issues. But when our team isn't winning, people look for issues. I am biased because I know people who work for the club very well. I want to say hats off to the staff at the club who work in the offices, who maintain the stadium, cut the grass, even the idiots that put out social media with big foreheads. The ones not earning the big bucks. The ones working 24/7, those who seem to cop the flak in times of struggle. Saturday's win must have been a relief for everyone at the club, not just us. I think we may forget that at times when we are screaming about how crap a player is who we two week later all love. Fingers crossed for another happy match tonight and less anger online aimed at people only trying their best for the same common cause. Small rant over Roy x
Good post .I need some positives in my life at the moment and this cheered me up. The Club has been a big part of my life for 60 odd years. Couldn't make the last two games as too ill.First miss in I don't know when. Hoping to be back in my seat for Bolton if all goes well, but in any case, Youuuuuu Redddddddds.
Those who maintain the stadium can fook reight off, Blind to pigeon **** and the bogs feckin stink rank before they have even been used. Got some spice wrappers ont floor near me that say Spangles on em.
Great post Roy , I’m still trying to pull myself together after going to pieces reading that . Yes it’s true we always pull together when things are going great and we fall out and bicker when things are not , Suppose it’s human nature tbh but the thing with social media is we write or interpret things a lot differently than if we were in face to face conversation . But as you say we all have one thing in common and that’s our club COYFingR
Reds 4 ever - keep me going through my cancer **** and another win tonite will help my mood and then bring on Bolton - believe - loads to play for - it's about what we can do - yipppeeeee - great post
all the very best mate. Hope everything goes ok for you . Will be rooting for you and the super reds COYFR
But all these thoughts and conversations went on before social media - in pubs, at work, on the bus, etc,etc - it's just that social media publicises them far more widely. I'm going to start antisocial media. Now shurrup everybody, and think on!
I think people were more mindful and if I’m honest more respectful of what and how they said it face to face .there were always arguments and differing opinions but most were amicably delivered imo. I must admit on social media I’ve taken offence to posts and realised they weren’t meant in the sense I’ve taken them and visa Versa
You too mate? That's me too. Not letting it get me down, and my big aim is to be definitively back in my seat and shouting my fecking head off at the first game next season.
Good on yer - set achievable goals and smash em - like the reds some bad days but all days are good - some a lot better than others - hoping we can stay up - what a great end to a season - shout yer fecking head off
