Another vote for the Go-Betweens from me. One of my fave bands growing up. Remember trying to learn Dive for your memory on my guitar when I came home from school. Also loved this, for the weird time signature
Was going to post almost exactly the same, went to Leeds festival in 2014 and saw them with some Aussie friends of friends. Like you, not my normal cup of tea, but for an hour’s chillout with a couple of beers they were really good. Very big down under apparently (oo-er missus). Looks like they’ve changed their name since, was just Rüfüs then..
Nothing wrong with Beth from Neighbours or her cover version of Torn, but Missy Higgins is better. Her greatest hits album is out this month but will probably cost around thirty quid to get hold of because in the 15 years I have been aware of her music, she's never bothered with the UK. NYE, Set Me On Fire, Scar, Ten Days and The Special Two are some of the better ones. Did a great version of Perfect live with Ed Sheeran when supporting him on his Australia tour that's on You Tube.
I went to the Te Papa museum in New Zealand (Wellington) and was surprised to find memorabilia dedicated to Split Enz and Neil Finn in the national museum. Well deserved though, a great talent.
Also, Daniel Johns of Silverchair and Luke Steele of Empire of the Sun have released some stuff together under the name DREAMS, which is just a bit strange musically really but sounds more Empire than Silverchair.
