Another explanation for that could simply be that they don't use chalk or have those old blackboards in schools anymore... Nothing PC about that, it's just common sense to update the terminology every now and then.
Reading the comments on this article just shook me up and here seems like a relevant place to share. (I have no idea how I stumbled upon a Fox website) http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/10/1...th-on-orders-south-carolina-man-cops-say.html These people are racist, I know that word is banded about a lot and it kind of loses it's impact a bit because of that, but these people are straight up racists. It's shocked me as I guess I didn't really believe people were that racist. I know people make inappropriate comments at times but this hatred for black people is on another level.
Go hang your head in shame for reading Fox news - it makes the Daily Mail look good. Nearly switched my browser to private before venturing on to that site - but you are right some of the comments on there are unreal there are some decent replies trom the anti gun lobby - I particularly liked " If there just had been a good toddler with a gun there, he could have stopped the bad toddler." - I think he was being ironic - at least I hope he was but of course on there you cant be sure!
I was once in a meeting at work and we were involved in a session discussing how we could increase our revenue streams. The guy leading the session said " I suggest we just brainstorm and write our suggestions on a flip chart." One of the women in the group complained at the use of the word brainstorm as it might give offence to people with epilepsy. From that day forward the word " wordshower" had to be used in all future meetings instead.!
so when they report this they will not be able to put it in a newspaper.... as that would be reported in 'black & white' how will they get around that then.
my favourite album of all time is back in black and my favourite drink is black coffee im ******.**** just realised im sat on a black leather sofa
Not a big rap fan but appreciate Black Album that Jay Z released with tunes like 99 Problems and Encore on it. Just hope that Black Eyed Peas don't do a cover of Texas tune Black Eyed Boy.
I also have been in a meeting where "Brainstorm" was frowned upon - I wasn't sure if the complainer was serious or not The same goes for the phrase "calling a spade a spade" - that has racist overtones I wasn't aware of until I googled it.
Years ago when I worked at Gents we implemented a new email scanner and went through the dictionary of racist terms that came with it. Even back then there were well over 2-300, including a load that we just didn't understand.
Things are going to get worse but changing the subject slightly with all this sexual harassment. I know some of what’s been going on is deplorable but you can bet it will get taken to the nth degree. Girls can start to forget about nice makeup and perfume because it will be in blokes interest to ignore them. Gone will be the days of "flirting" and "chatting up" for fear of this sexual harassment.
Good. You're not telling me the crap I've had to endure is all worth it so I can (very rarely) put some make up on.
