Anyone else concerned about the confused looks on the players faces in training that the club keep tweeting? Don’t take this as a bashing post as it’s not, I’m happy with the appointment of JM, but I’ve a feeling tonight’s game will be carnage. JM could have done with a pre season, it’s going to be so hard getting his points across in a handful of training sessions.
He'll be fine. There's foreign managers up and down the country and around the world. I have a bad feeling purely cos it's Barnsley but that's it. At the end of the day, nothing can be as bad as when that useless ******* went one win in 17 and totally lost the plot.
I think you are mistaking confusion for concentration and a realisation from players that the expectation level has gone up more than a few notches
Unfortunately for him, the team, the club and the supporters, hes got wot hes got till end of season. Hes been abart abit, coaching in several differant countrys and i'm sure he knows wot motivation and interaction are abart. I'm hoping it'll be a big boost for evryone and his appointment can give evrybody a lift. Good point though.
Thats my feeling before every game this season...just hoping for the new manager bounce. I cant be there so iFollow it will have to be but I will miss most of the first half - just hope we are 3 up by the time I get in
The confused look might be through the "pain" they are being subjected to. Rumour is the players have been put through their paces very intensely probably because the new coaches might think, having looked at past videos, our players are not quite fit enough. Piece by Joe Williams on the Official Club site seems to infer that the players are enjoying the new " regime". https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2018/february/joe-williams-bafc/
I've been more concerned about the confused looks on the faces of the fans after we've won 1 game in ******* eternity.
I think he's introduced a radical new tactic of sticking the yellow round thing between the 2 white post which has got them discombobulated.
Tough set of circumstances whoever took over not judging manager on 1 game the favored son has gone he left for his own ambition . Backing Jose to give his all.and the players do the same.
Yes, its worth remembering he's been in the job 4 days and probably had 2 sessions with the players, might not be great tonight!
I don't think I've ever seen a sentence that more succinctly captures the experience of supporting this club.
it may get a little worse before it gets better. But I am convinced its gonna get a hell of a lot better.
the owners stated he was always their first choice. Perhaps they did a few interviews to put people off the scent. He was at the Wednesday game apparently so will have seen for himself. He will also have the availability of videos of previous games which he could assess, I am sure he will get things better..... and soon.
As professionals , they should already be schooled to a level that when receiving instructions on their profession, you would expect them to be able to take these on board
Any Head Coach could've done with a pre season. But we were foced into changing mid-season, so we don't have much of a chance of that happening.
I’d be more concerned with a dead fisheye look tbh. It is what it is Ted just enjoy que sera sera n all that
Jose and Jaoa attended the Burton v Forest game Saturday last, so they have witnessed first hand how Burton can play. Speculation is that Burton will have three key defenders out through injury, so Clough could be forgiven for putting six players behind the ball and being totally reliant on set pieces to afford any opportunity of them scoring a goal. Without going " guns ho", as the home team, in my opinion we've got to attempt to press high up the field from the very off. Hopefully we can get round the back of them and get some quality crosses into their box. It could be argued that Tom Bradshaw should have stuck a couple of chances away against Wednesday and so tonight , Jose might opt for height up front in the shape of Moore and McBurnie. Whatever happens we will have to be patient and I hope our fans recognise that and don't start showing frustration and start booing if things don't go our way. We're in this together so let's get fully behind the boys and our new coaching team. If we do, I'm optimistic we'll survive in the Championship.
