Show's remarkable arrogance ...

On the part of Radio Sheffield. 26% less than the previous season because you have no other options!

What a set of knobs ...

Not often I agree with the Reds PR machine - but take my hat off to them on this one.

Bring on Radio Dearne - who needs the DEE DARS anyway!! (N)

Indeed let's hope...

They talk some drivel anyroad, other stations cover games, and indeed Barnsley World will cover them, whether they are used or not.

well I eat humble pie, I backed them a day or so ago, I did not know this...sorry all

I will not listen to them any more , I have detuned my radio from them , I hope they get on Dearne FM as at least that will have the BBC fm quality.
I feel a bit foolish now, but hey thats life. Bloody DeeDars

Who's up for bombarding football heaven tomorrow night

pretending to be SWFC or SUFC fans and then asking the presenters about the BFC situation.

We could even try to close the switchboard down, i have about 7 phone lines in the office which i could keep redialing, if everyone did this it would cause chaos for them.

No other options?

We have several, as do Radio Sheffield's advertisers. I wonder how they'll take the news that an area containing 200,000 consumers is considered insignificant.

Come on Barnsley, turn them off and spread the word. Uncharacteristically well handled BFC.

I think we should await Radio Dee Dah's side of this before jumping to any massive conclusions.

However, in general, I do feel Barnsley's coverage is inferior to that of most of the other clubs. This is emphasised on more than one occasion when a Barnsley fan rings up, it's a dodgy line and the caller immediately cuts them off and says we will get back to you later. Invariably, that is the last you will here from the poor sod.

RE: No other options?

I hope we don't burn our bridges and it can be resolved satisfactorily.

Part of football is banter - and part of banter with local clubs is the Radio Sheffield phone in. Wot we gonna do? Ring Radio Dearne and have banter with Frickeye fans?!

maybe they offered us less than last season after we refused to talk to them last season?

If i was paying for something and i didnt get it then when it comes to the time when i need to renew the contract i would expect a reduction.

Emailed them already

Just heard that you have offered Barnsley FC 26% less than last season and 3.5 times less than the Sheffield clubs for covering our games this season. The club have quite rightly told you to take a running jump. You have just confimed what we already knew; that you value the Sheffield clubs much higher than us. Let's hope this means Dearne FM will now be covering our games and you will be locked out of Oakwell when your beloved Dee Dars visit us.

Yes, well done BFC for keeping the fans informed - but before..

everybody goes overboard with the plaudits, am I the only one thinking that something ain't quite right about all this?

WHY should Radio Sheffield single out Barnsley from all the local clubs to make this seemingly derisory offer? The
people that run that radio station must know the reaction this would cause. We all know that we consider the
station is biased against the Reds in their coverage but whether or not that is just an impression or is reality
can only be proved by Radio Dee-Dah - stats of their coverage etc., etc.,

I'm not trying to exonerate Radio Sheffield in all this sorry affair, but anybody who thinks BFC are totally blameless
as well need a reality check imho. I suspect there's something far more deep-seated in all this.

I just think it's all a bit sad really, even though there are local alternatives in Oakwell AM and Dearne FM, not to mention
Hallam. Whatever you may think of Radio Sheff. - Dave Cooper was a top lad as far as BFC went.

Totally agree. We all know BFC and PR don't go together under the present regime so I do agree - we are not hearing the full story as yet on this one.
