..is apparently what the Windies cricketer aimed towards Joe Root. I have never heard this before. I've tried a few mates (yep unbelievable Jeff there are a few) and the wife and one or two of her mates - never heard of it. Seems more cricket related than owt else. Is this apparent slur commonplace?
I've always heard it used since being a kid and before Ali G. Haven't heard it as much in recent years thankfully but 20 or 30 years ago I heard it regularly
Quite a lot of homophobic rap / dancehall artists have used it. Here is one ridiculous example: Well done to Joe Root for his calm and rational response. Stokes might not have been so laid back.
I didn't know the term existed before Ali G. It was on his show that I first heard it. https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=battyboy
