Yes absolutely, I think we all deserve our Bbc telly licence fee back and a free holiday as well. How dare they force such tv toss on us like Strictly, Bake off, & the despairingly pointless and unfunny Mrs Browns boys. Shame on them all lol.

I think the jug eared crisp thief Gary Lineker is ok as a presenter, but he sure as hell doesn't deserve those high wages. And some of their pundits are total garbage. (like Alan Shearer, Martin Keown, Mark Lawrenson, Dion Dublin, Danny Mills, Garth Crooks, & the walking dead extra Steve Claridge).

Linekers fee is equivalent in value to 12,000 TV licences.! Not worth it IMO.

I think hes ok Donny as a presenter or a host, and I always respected him as an England striker. But I do agree with that comment, and I did also say he sure as hell doesn't deserve those high wages/fees.
One of the other likeable Bbc presenters by the way is Mark Chapman, I wonder what he earns compared to Lineker.

Ninety six all earning more than the Prime Minister. Salaries ranging from£150,000
to £2.2 million. Could prompt a new programme " The Great British Rake Off."!

Yep, and we could ask the likes of Dermot O'Leary & Claudia Winkleman to present it too. They usually do any old sh*ite as long as the money is right. ;)

Linekers earnings at the BBC are second only to Evans but he has also agreed to
front BT's Champions League showcase ( salary not known) for five years and it's estimated
he recieves around £1 million for the Walkers Crisps adverts.

We don't know if his earnings at the Beeb include presenting Sports Personality of the Year
but all told I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he was earning the thick end of £4 million plus
    a year.

Im fairly sure Linekers earnings as shown will be for all his BBC work including Sports Personality etc. Of course its too much but the problem is that unless you want the BBC to be a training ground for other channels who then continually poach the better presenters and just leave them with the less good ones you have to allow them to pay salaries that most of us think are unreasonable

So we could make the BBC follow the Barnsley model - hire good young presenters knowing they will leave for Sky/ITV etc if they are any good
trouble is they cant get a transfer fee

The TV licensing contract is a small part of capita.

It doesnt just deal with public sector contracts but all accross the private sector as well.

So to suggest the 'millions' they pay to the Ceo is all from public money is a bit daft.

Not a comment on Lineker in particular, but I saw it mentioned that people like Chris Evans were only paid by the BBC for some of their work (in his case Radio 2). His work on Top Gear (for example) was paid by the production company, so is not listed as part of his BBC salary. A lot of them are not just limited to the BBC either - quite a few work for other channels/production companies in their spare time.

Crapita have a lot of big contracts, particularly in back office processing and IT, where they take over the work, then farm the jobs out to India wherever possible to make it profitable. So the council saves some money on the cost of employing people, but the government end up paying more in unemployment and benefits for the former employees. Public opinion seems to be that sending a few £100 per month to Poland or Romania is evil incarnate, but sending £millions per year to India is perfectly ok.

They also do local govt, disability testing, a good proportion of their profits come from public sector contracts. Do your research.

Been revealed today that the highest earner at the Beeb is not Chris Evans it's
Graham Norton. The figure published re- £850-899k was only for presenting "Eurovision"
"Let it Shine " and his Radio 2 show.

The accounts for his Company "So Television" show he was paid £2.613 million for
presenter /production fees and royalties for " The Graham Norton TV Show".
It means that his earnings were therefore around £3.3 to £3.5 million in the last financial year.

Gary Lineker as well as his MOD earnings has also been receiving " unknown" payments
from Goalhanger Films. He's been tweeting from his holiday abroad this week attempting to
justify the amounts he's paid. Not likely to last however. Female presenters are not too pleased with
the disparity in pay and a Beeb " Money Engineer" now says the only way to redress the balance
is not to pay them more leaving the male presenters on the same salaries , but to pay the latter
less and pass those sums onto the female presenters.

    Not before time an all.!
