And here in lies the problem.

The Labour Party is supposed to be centre left. It’s the actual reason they were set up a hundred years ago.

Actually Corbyn is taking labour back to what the Labour Party is.

You do realise that Labour started the NHS (socialist), Holiday pay (socialist), workers rights (socialist), living wage (socialist), the welfare system (socialist), and many more we all take advantage of on a daily basis.

Labour is supposed to be a democratic Socialist party. What has happened over the last 20 years has taken Labour from its core purpose and become a poor version of itself, which has helped to create this vacuum we live in now.

You need to really understand the Labour movement before making a comment like ‘the Labour Party isn’t the Labour Party anymore’ because it’s actually more Labour than it’s been for decades.

Mate, as I've already posted, I dont give a toss a out either party. What i do know is that neither represents myself and that they are both failing this town massively. If Corbyn is what the harbour party is all about then it doesnt surprise me at all to see the Tory vote in this town creep up.

The reason why voters like you aren’t voting labour is because people either aren’t politically knowledgable or they read news papers or targeted media from far right sources on social media.

Out of interest what is it particularly about Labour and Corbyn that makes you think he/they aren’t intending on making people in your area of Goldthorpe, better off?

People have thoughts and views of their own and can make their own rationale decisions about who to vote for and who not to vote for. The way in which some have been jumped on in this thread for not voting labour is ridiculous and I can’t believe this thread hasn’t been locked, given some of the bile that is being typed by certain posters.

If you don’t vote labour then you don’t have the mental capacity to think for yourself.
If you vote Tory then you’re a self obsessed thunder ***t it’s hoped you’ll get AIDS and you should be slaughtered.

My political views are my own and I won’t be sharing them as this just isn’t the place for rationale debate. Before I get hounded by the far left, I didn’t vote Tory and have no desire to get into any argument with anyone on this thread. I just think some of the ***** that has been posted should be called out. We’re a democracy and people have a right to vote for who they wish without fear of persecution. That’s not the way of the BBS however, and hasn’t been for some time.

I agree that people have the right to choose and there's no need for personal attacks, but equally I think its fair to question someone's choices, especially when they create a thread of this nature.

The OP knew full well he was going to be met with anger/disbelief when creating this thread and I question the true purpose of it. It's a very sensitive subject for many families destroyed by pit closures, but still no need for the levels of abuse on here.

Problem is if you dont vote - you allow others to put the likes of Boris in control of the country you are living in surely if you dont agree with Tories or Labour there are other candidates you can vote for - even if you dont agree with some of their policies pick the one closest to your views.
voting for the Greens Lib Dems or even though it pains me to say it the Brexit party is better than not voting at all

A corking oasis of a post Mr Blivey.

In a desert of rabid unreasonableness and intolerance.

However, I believe there to be a sensible majority still out there, albeit silently shaking their heads.

Top post mate. New Labour/ Blair was simply slightly watered-down Conservatives. These Blairites in the Labour Party are showing their lack of mettle by quitting and/ or blubbering to the Tory press instead of sticking their ground and fighting for what they believe in.

No, sorry. Not at all. I posted because I couldn't believe this pompous git was inline to lead the Conservative party. I grant you I could have worded the title somewhat differently.
As for the abuse, all very sad and no doubt alcohol fueled but watter and duck's back etc....

I completely agree and I’m not advocating which way people should vote.

I will however pick people up on mistruths about Socialism or ‘ labour not being labour anymore’.

I wouldn’t query anyone voting Lib Dem, Green etc but for anyone to vote Tory in the north of England are batting for the wrong side, and it’s not even close.

At the risk of sounding all Tory which I am not - I sometimes do my shopping at Waitrose (Farnham doesnt have an Aldi, Tesco or even Morrisons) and get a free newspaper - I tend to pick one up because I use them for lighting the fire in winter or the BBQ in summer and sometimes pick the Torygraph because its a broadsheet with more paper in it. Yesterday - although it was bigger and thicker than all the other papers I couldn't even bring myself to pick it up with the sole view of burning it - and picked up a much smaller Guardian instead - I might even read some of it before I use it to light the BBQ ( or even the fire the way this summer is going)

There are a few exceptions though not from the Bullingdon club the few I can think of are not male or Tory either eg Caroline Lucas or Jess Phillips
