    Whatever happened to these guys they should be mekkin a reight killing narrdays.

    Davenport's were a Birmingham brewery founded in the 18thc that did a lot in the home delivery market....I never tried the bottled beers, but Davenport's cask was gorgeous. Unfortunately they were taken over by the Warrington brewer Greenall Whitley in the mid 1980's and closed down.
    They had over 100 tied pubs.

    Davenports had a few pubs back in the 80s, there was one next to the canal near Tamworth, I had a few in there one night, a very decent beer as I recall.

    I did try the bottled stuff as a teen and it seemed alreet.

    Thanks for info, don`t know why that tune came into mi heead this morning, still not sure why a lot of unusual things keep appearing.
