Ashley Ward, Redfearn, Hignett, Vaz Te to name a few in recent times. The two thing that stay and moves on is the club and the fans.

Will we miss Winnall? Yes we will in the short term.

Will we be alright without him? Of course we will.

He is one player in a engine full of different cogs and gears. A wheel falls off a car, you replace that wheel and then move onwards. Sam has been a good player for us these past 2 1/2 seasons and the goals he scored are credit to him as he did work hard personally and for the team. The only sickener is that he's moved to S6 and the rumored fee for him.

I wanna say thanks for the memories and goals Sam but from being loved you now become just another player who played for Barnsley just like all the others who have come and gone. Heros come and go and new ones emerge. In Bradshaw we have a ready made replacement. A very similar type of player to Winnall in his game play and style and now we shall see if he can step up as he also deserves that chance.

Winnall has been the king of goals for us no doubt about it these last season or 2. The king is dead. Long live the king.

It's not the transfer itself that really disappointed me, they are just part of the fabric of football especially for clubs like ours. We didn't need to sell (that's what we've been told) yet it looks like the first offer that comes in we sell and to a playoff rival. We've strengthened Wednesday while, on paper at least, weakening ourselves and for the footballing equivalent of peanuts.

Hero for scoring the winner in S2, zero for going to S6. We move on, as always.

I think Winnall is replaceable, we may even be able to replace him with the squad we have.

I don't think Hourihane is replaceable.
