Can't wait to get going . Will look at getting players from EU but will speak with PH about this and he wants about 10. Thinks the Marketing department can improve and that's an area he's worked on before. Says he will be very very busy when he arrives.
Nothing wrong with saying the club need to improve on certain areas. Where people take exception is when you compare the clubs shortcomings with the worlds top clubs with budgets that are thousands of times higher than 'Tarns... As an example, the club really need to improve the way they handle player contracts(within the limits of it's budgetary constraints). We all know that, and I'm sure the club do too. However, telling it's "media team"(the speech marks are not meant as a sign of disrespect, but as Whitey pointed out, it only consists of two individuals) that it needs to be matching Man City's(seemingly) multi-million pound media output is taking the piss!
Hey hes sounding positive already, cant we hire a back-up to help ease the load a bit, if there is such a thing as an Asst Ceo.
He can: a) Cos it's his personal opinion b) Cos he's not being repetitive c) He's not slagging the club off d) He's not started an attention seeking new thread about it e) He's not massaging his own ego We all know certain things need improving; on the face of it this appointment seems a good one so let's hope we can have a few more positives between now and what promises to be a full-on new season (which will no doubt be upon us in the blink of an eye).
Can't wait for new CEO to start. Already thinking the way we want him to IMO re- improvements in the way contracts are handled and hopefully improving our marketing, communication and the recruitment of new players. Regarding the Chronicle I get mine in Sainsbury's every Friday but saw the cover and gave it a miss this week. Even if they got a right wedge to printing the wrap round in my opinion it's rather insensitive of the Editor to approve publishing it because it must evoke painful memories for some of their loyal readership. It would be like inviting the Great Train Robbers to the Post Office Christmas party.!
The Chronicle was an institution in the town at one point. Some good journos there. Now it is a rag I wouldn't wipe my arse with.
It may be interesting to see who owns the Chronicle ! It may then, make more sense ! Some may be very surprised.
TBF the cron int going to pull him to peices is it... Its just a bit publicity, to soften up those who may have been at best unsure.. so any plaudits need to go to Mr Kane of the Cron for spin.. But the article will have no bearing on performance of the new CEO.. It is really just another experiment by the club, and will need time to see if it works or not
hope he's given a chance. at just 29 though, i do wonder how much experience he'll be bringing to the table at CEO level. he's obviously another very ambitious young bloke, so we probably shouldn't expect to see him sticking round too long either, if he has any degree of success.
