The latest Blackpool ownership court case is happening today. There's bit by bit coverage of it here https://backhenrystreet.co.uk/discussion/35286/high-court-receiver-court-update-130219?page=3# It seems like the football team may well suffer a 12 points deduction, which would put them on the fringes of the relegation zone. It will be interesting to see how it turns out, personally I hope that proper Blackpool fans will soon be able to start watching their team again.
Seems so unfair for the fans to be punished as they haven't been supporting the owner. Hope when he goes they get a decent owner
Looking at their site, it seems a lot of them would accept the 12 points deduction as in the long term it would be a decent price to pay for getting rid of the Oystons. They could then start going to matches again as the boycott would end, which presumably would improve the finances. Good luck to them.
Decision due any time now. In the meantime, this made me laugh from their man on the ground's twitter account:
Don't really understand the in and outs but they seem happy so I assume it's gone the way they wanted.
Can we contact the person from Blackpool who used to post on here. I forget his name. He will be able to tell us what it all means, he seemed very clued up.
The nutshell... Oyston had a verdict against him from Valeri Belokons action to appoint a receiver to get the £25m he is owed. Belokon won the action, so Blackpool is up for sale, a receiver has been appointed and Oyston has been removed. Its now a case of proving the club can fulfil its obligations, and whether there is a 12 point deduction for them this season or not. Then they find a buyer, and they get their club back.
Didn't Belokons want to buy the club by increasing his shareholding? Would it be the case that he'd assume ownership by making a deal with the receivers?
A lot of in fighting between fans, like both sets of fans argue, who are the real fans, the ones that go and watch em play week in week out, or the ones that have boycotted the corruption and stand united against the Oysters. Good luck to you all, i feel for you all, to me you are all WINNERS NOW, enjoy the rest of the season GUD LUK.
I'd be surprised if their attendance increased significantly. Obviously some will lift their self-imposed boycotts but I bet plenty will have got so used to doing something else with their Saturdays that they won't bother. I mean to say - Golden Mile v Bloomfield Road. No competition (cough, choke )
