I see the EFL has really come down heavy on them for this https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50420657
Disgraceful decision. Set a very dangerous precedent too because now clubs up and down the country know they can just cancel games whenever they want and get just a warning.
Utterly pathetic. What's worse is that the bottom few clubs in league one are so poor that Bolton have a chance of getting out of the bottom three and surviving.
It’s a shocking dereliction if duty by the authorities. Just encouraging similar shenanigans at other clubs - but as we all know, there are some that get away with it and some that don’t!
i cant help thinking the authorities tried very hard to keep Bolton in the league - as they should, but when comparing it to Bury i think they tried very hard to get them out and use them as the example. Time and time again we see a soft level of inconsistency in footballs governance. Ruining the game, maybe even more so than Sky Sports and VAR ;-)
Its an outrageous decision - a few years ago Middlesborough had 23 their squad injured or suffering flu and postponed a game at 24 hours notice and were deducted 3 points and fined heavily.( the game was still played later in the season like any other postponed game) At the very least Boltons penalties shouldnt have been suspended but implemented now Its hard not to draw a conclusion that sides like Bolton ( and I expect Sheffied Wednesday) get different treatment to the ;likes of Luton and Bury for example
Ridiculous decision. They're clearly not going to miss any other fixtures in the next 18 months so the 5 points will never be deducted, I hope Donny batter them 10-0 in the rearranged game. Also, isn't it absolutely mental to give a monetary fine to a team that was pretty much bankrupt a few months ago and the new owners have taken out a massive loan to finance the club now.
On current form Bolton will finish the season 2 or 3 points better off than us, even after a 12 point deduction. If that isn’t a sad indictment of what is happening with our club then I don’t know what is
EFL are appealing the independent commission's ruling as they say its too lenient. They go onto say that things have come out overnight (possibly the report) that makes it a mockery and will be persuing all avenues
