Does anyone think the new owners should be paraded on the pitch and introduced to fans just before kick off?
No. Football's lost its ******* mind, all chief execs, money men and owners. They should just crack on with what they do and keep out of the spotlight. It's about them lads on the pitch.
I think they should.... I also think I t would be nice for Patrick and his wife to go onto the pitch so we can thank them for all they have done health permitting obviously.
I think the new owners and Patrick and his family should both come out onto the pitch. Meet on the half way line and Mr Lee and Co should hand over the money on the pitch. Preferably in a black bin liner as I don't think it would all fit in one suitcase. Patrick should count the money on the pitch too just in case as he will have 15,000 thousand witnesses if Mr Lee has short changed him.
I think there should be a public thank you to mr cryne and his family and then I would be happy to not hear a thing from the new owners for 12 months whilst they quietly go about their business.
Yeah, I expect nothing less and I expect a decent gate in anticipation to be honest. It's a big event and should be marked with something.
No way. We got introduced to them in the press conference. We don't need to applaude them before they have even had the chance to earn an applause from us. The idea of a new owner/board parading before the fans is cringy.
It should have a dragon's head, a lion's body with a bald eagle perched on it's back, and a peacock's tail. Which might be difficult to walk about in.
I think PC family to come on to the pitch would be an emotional and fitting end to their custodian era at BFC, I would like the opportunity to applaud the man. There is nothing wrong either with welcoming the new owners in, this can be done with them in the stands or them escorting PC on to the pitch. I think it will be a special day and will be remembered for a long time by all. It can also go a long way to show everyone what a fantastic place oakwell / barnsley is.
Not this time unless I've misjudged this, the takeover is the biggest positive thing to happen to our town in years and even non football fans should be excited so I'm hoping for a big celebration really on boxing day. I think bfc have a Christmas ticket offer on plus half season tickets on sale, usually get a decent boxing day turn out and we are now one of the richest clubs in the country , with a plan, knowledgeable people at the top and a legend in Patrick leaving so if we can't get an atmosphere for that then we deserve nothing.
I may be wrong but I read Gimsons comment to mean that whenever we have a special day, lots of hype and expectation, and a bigger than usual crowd - the team ends up falling on its arse
I agree that happens that the team doesn't perform but this time that doesn't matter it's bigger than that, it's now because football has change so much since we were in the premier league we are starting a new time where we have a legitimate chance of competing financially. As the new owners say gradual overall club improvement all round year on year competing but with the added good management structure we already have in place. The day is to show appreciation to the old and welcome the new the results irrelevant.
