Surely it's simply because we don't have as big a fan-base as Bradford. Regardless of how well we've been doing this season, home crowds haven't topped 12k. It seems to me we simply don't have a big enough fan base to attract 16-17k regularly unless we were in the Premier League

Bradford's average attendance was 8,200 before they introduced dirt cheap tickets.

We didn't even sell our allocation when we were in the Premier. So I can't see us hitting 17,000 in the Championship.

They can't even be arsed taking down twenty year old Admiral signs in the East Stand Lower or sorting the problem of puddles everywhere from a little bit of rain. Therefore as much as this would be a great idea it's never going to happen.

It's a fantastic initiative shows clear forwards thinking and builds the long term fanbase. Unfortunately we are too timid to attempt it which is a great shame.

What? All seats were sold. The only fluctuation was the number of "Away" fans.
The ground only held just over 18,000 and every attendance was that give or take a few hundred.

Be interesting to see how much they charge even if they stay in this league they haven't guaranteed their fans they will still be 149 quid yet.

We sold all the home ends to season tickets in the premiership my dad struggled to get one for me and him and we ended up in the west stand

Agreed. If we were ever in a position to give it a go it's now while we're flush but I really dont think we'd exceed 13k.

We have had over 12k home fans plenty of times this season with the ticket offer against Huddersfield they was just short of 13.5k home fans and probley would had been more if people could have used the rest of the west stand and got a half decent view.

When we were in Div3/4 crowds in excess of 20, 000 though not commonplace weren't random enough for me to think we're weird. The strike killed it and we never really rebuild despite the flirtation with the Prem. Cup games against Everton and Stoke drew pretty massive crowds. If the price was right we could average 17/18000 I reckon (exclusive of away fans). We seem to have little desire to explore Innovative ticketing and don't want to look to the future.

They haven't been arsed about sorting those problems for years, why are people expecting that to change at jokewell now?! It's Ok though, cos Mr BFC will come on here telling us everything is great!!
The only time we will see anything new is if we move to a new ground! Even if the admiral signs fall off the wall no one would pick them up and dispose of them!!

I agree with this^ in 2000 we played man city fighting for 2nd place in this league no cheap tickets no offers city sold the away end and we had sold the home end exept the terrible vue seats. Less than 10 years ago we took 34k to Wembley. We have the support its getting them back to oakwell I think we would pull 16/17k if we did the offer bradford only averaged 8500 before they did the offer.

As I said the big crowds under Clarke and Hunter weren't commonplace but they were relatively regular.

They'd probably still charge the current amount, or very close, as a thank you to their supporters for their fabulous support this season. So another 15 to 20 thousand sold.
It's about having the bottle to do it for the first time. We do not have that bottle I'm afraid.

Since the Prem season we've only had a few averages under 10k, the best spell of crowds in our history, The club needs to look at ways of hitting the next milestone of 15k averages. Without being top of the league or a Huddersfield/Wolves/Bradford ST offer, l don't know how they can do it.
