Impossible without a ticket offer bradford and Huddersfield wouldn't be getting those gates without the ticket offer. Some just can't afford 300 quid when it's 150 for year it entices people who have never been or haven't for years.

Given the demographics of the area and the poverty of wages I'd say that's almost impossible. The only way forward is to make offers and hope they go hand in hand with success that will allow you to gradually increase prices.

    Excuses, excuses.
In the west Yorkshire area there's Leeds, Bradford, Hudds, all pulling in at least 15000.
We have Donny, Rotherham and the two Sheffs.
I would bet my house that if either of the two Sheffs did a s/t deal like Bradford they'd sell the lot ! As I've asked already... who the hell is in charge of selling, or trying to sell, s/ts at Barnsley. If the answer is "haven't got a clue" then that's that. Marketing strategy at Barnsley to the general public is big fat zero... let's see what happens... we can't do that... we daren't do that... we'd rather have 7000 full fare passengers than 15000 half fare... we can't think about future generations coming to Oakwell, we live in the here and now... bury head in sand.

    It's winning all round

Although some may argue that the only winning that matters is on the pitch?

I live amongst these fans and grew up with them. There's a real feel good factor that the knock-on effect of affordable football brings.

18k this year ..... a high proportion of these are kids. The thing that kids want to do pre-match is go to the club shop. It's thriving, and must be making a bob or two.

Dad's want a pint. And summat to eat. Local hostelries do well off the back of it.

Lads grow into dads. They have been doing this for years now. Kids who turned their backs after free-fall from the Prem were enticed back, not by the lure of watching Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea, but by watching #teamslikebarnsley in a full, loud and ultimately cheap matchday experience. When we walked there a couple of years back, three sides of the ground were rocking. And probably fuelled by in-ground catering that guess what ..... must make a bob or two.

Players like to play in front of crowds. £2k a week to play at MK Dons in front of a couple of thou, or the same to live oop North and play in front of a full house?

If they go up, they could put prices up, but guess what, they'll still sell. Cos they spent a few years gambling on building up a passionate fan-base.

It will reap dividends for them in the long run.

You would think that wouldn't you? but then you think how much the day trippers spent on two days at Wembley and it amounts to the cost of a season ticket.

We sold just short of 10k season tickets this season so we were told so we would need to sell 18/19k for the same return. In the famous words of derick trotter he who dares wins..... but I wouldn't like to think I was bridging the gap if we didn't make the numbers up.

You could make some up by charging 50 quid for a kids season ticket instead of them being free.

What would be useful would be to know the average season ticket price, total season ticket revenue, number of free tickets. People saying we would have to sell double by offering the much cheaper tickets haven't factored in that by removing the free tickets as somewhat a counter balance means that in reality the figure wouldn't be near double.

We fail to meet the minimum standards. Do you not understand that. The very bare minimum we are meZnt to provide we don't. You are proud of that. That's just weird.

Brighton, Derby, Huddersfield, Leeds, Sheffield United, Rotherham, Astn Villa, Newcastle, Norwich of the ones I have been in within the last 2 seasons. How many away disabled places have you been in recently?

Ours was ok 20 years ago. We failed to invest.

Yes. One of my kids qualifies (as she has Coloboma) for a disabled space we don't use the ones at Oakwell as she doesn't really need them but we do away sometimes. And the aforementioned all offer better facilities than Oakwell .

Didn`t a small percentage of the tickets have to be bought on a first come first served match by match basis?
