He's signed for Blackburn for £750k. I'm surprised that no championship clubs took a chance on him, especially as he's only 23.

My guess is that he must have wanted decent wages or his disappointing season last year turned a lot of people off. Was very impressed when I saw him at Oakwell.

That's quite a U turn on Gillinghams part.

They wanted £3m start of last year.

Just goes to show that selling players for the best price is complicated.

Was best player in L1 year we went up in my opinion.

Probably a similar scenario to us in January. Nearing end of contract and seeing what he could earn elsewhere, so club took what they could get.

Blackburn still paying the money though eh? They and Wigan really invite it upon themselves don't they?

As much as people slate the Venkys , they've invested millions into that club but unfortunately successive managers have wasted it paying silly salaries to over the hill players.

Agreed, but they appoint the managers.

We've been through loads of managers, but none of them have had a pot to pee in compared to wig wam and Blackburns appointments, but despite some of our own fans perpetually complaining, we find ourselves in the league above said clubs.

All their bought success is a far distant memory.

I don't really have a problem with Blackburn fans, but it gives me a little semi on to see wigan struggle. Their fans really believe they're a big club.

Last year of contract, I believe.

They seem to keep waiting until they get relegated to invest: after going down from the Prem they signed Rhodes for £8 million, barely put anything in recently and now they've gone down to League One they're spending again
