That's him gone then and the best defensive record in league one with it.

If it’s that amount upfront then he’ll be gone. Huge loss but I’m sure they’ll be money to invest back into the team.

Can’t turn that down imo with of course add ons.
Jackson will step in and I think we’ll be ok defensively but need cover now .

Where did you hear about this? Only place I’ve seen it mentioned is that twitter page that makes up transfer rumours to get attention.. I’m seriously hoping that’s what it is... made up as he would be a massive loss, even at that sort of fee!

If you agree with the club's current buy cheap sell for big profit way of working then Pinnock has to go if that's the fee being touted which would be disappointing but to keep the club self funding it has to be that way....

Hopefully we would keep a sell on as well to maximise any profit.

Unfortunately the same person that told me about signing and selling Potts, signing Lindsay and selling Moncur.

He did say it was potential as he doesn't hear things directly as he doesn't work at the club.

We really cannot afford to lose him, I'm aware that every player has a price but we must keep hold of Pinnock if we have ambition of automatic promotion. I can understand the sales of Potts and Moncur but surly our owners know the importance of Pinnock to us and wouldn't let him go unless the fee is ridiculous, 5 million in my opinion isn't enough I understand others wont share the same opinion but I personally think he's better than Mawson was and we got 5 for him I believe?

Can’t see this being true whatsoever. Brentford surely won’t pay that much out, I know they’ve sold someone this week for big money. I think Jackson will be off and have another centre back signed this week.

That'd be a disaster for our season. He's been incredible.

Not that I hold out much hope, but even with 'the policy,' the club should turn the offer down. He's only going to improve, so I don't see why they couldn't get twice that amount in the future.

We’ll that sounds more concrete than that terrible twitter page! Let’s hope that we don’t let him go... it’s good money but could really throw the squad into termoil at this stage of the season, we need to be strengthening for the run in!! Even more concerning is that Jackson has allegedly turned down a contract extension so by the end of the season we could have 1 centre back at the club!! Every time we have a bit of success we get pillaged in January...

I wouldn't sell even for £6m. I genuinely think we'll go up automatically with him and would have to settle for the playoffs without him. As well as his own performances Lindsay really benefits from having him there and I wouldn't like Lindsay to have to form a new partnership at this stage of the season.

Didn't someone say the difference between the Championship and League 1 is about £6m? And it's not as if he's going to suddenly be worth nothing if we keep him until the summer.

I agree in a way but then again if our ambition is to be in the championship why are we flogging a player who imo will easily make the step up and has a long contract. We will never achive anything if we do this every January we are doing well we got 2million for Potts we must have spent a fraction of that.

Of course we can turn it down.

    How long is his contract?

He'll still be worth the same in the summer so why not keep hold till then and give us the best chance of being promoted?

Promotion is worth a few bob as well.....

Brentford's current transfer record is £2.5m (according to Soccerbase) so this would be significantly higher.

This is always going to be a problem, but it's a better problem than having players that aren't any good and are worth diddly squat.
