Behind the away end to the right of the academy pitches a big area of land has been flattened in readiness for what looks to be some building work to begin. Anyone know what is happening?
Garden allotments? An aim to grow cabbage patch kids to play in our first team in 4 years time? In all seriousness, how big is the area, any images?
Maybe they have picked up on my money making idea..... http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/leeds-united-oakwell-allocation.283119/#post-2346590
i really hope that our players read this board and the literally childish comments made on here about them because those same comments should, sure as hell, fire them up to put in a winning performance on Saturday. I have faith in this group to turn things around.
Read an interview with Conway about Nice with better academy resources like new academy centre etc, maybe that?
I think they were talking about bringing the residential side inhouse as it was costing a lot to use local B&B etc for academy players.
In 2012/13 Don Rowing wanted to develop that area into something solely as a goalkeeper training area. It was intended to be undertaken by youngsters in the probation service and those on community service under the supervision of 'Football in the community' and the ground staff. It died a death at the time of Don's departure. Maybe it has been resurrected.
That’s a good idea. My lad could do with some additional training to turn him from an already good player into a more tactical astute one through professional coaching. When I get home I’m going to discourage him from studying hard at school and being a pleasant young lad and start shoplifting, taking drugs and offering nothing to society so that he can get an opportunity he wouldn’t normally get.
