Bassini's injunction was amended so his Court case is now against Ken Anderson so the sale to football ventures can go through
Burys game against Rotherham tomorrow suspended so that is four games now with their game against Tranmere next week to be reviewed next week. Bad times.
Omg .....Bessini!!! And this is whats wrong with football, how is this crook let anywhere near a business (Bolton),. This is where the fa should stand in, im sorry this says more and more about the state of football in this country. How the hell is he going to be passed "fit and proper".
I appreciate the difficult position the EFL is in here, but how can they think these postponed games can be fit into the season withoutvdisadvantaging the other clubs? Time for Bury to go.
Another nail in Bury's coffin. Saturdays game postponed and now kicked out of league Cup. 3 days to d day not looking good
If the EFL had any balls that would be another points deduction. As a club, you can't just unilaterally call games off. But I am still waiting for their deduction to be applied for the abandonment of the Brentford game
Bolton boss Phil Parkinson and his assistant have now resigned. That’s a big blow to the footballing side of things, and perhaps doesn’t look good for the sale of the club. Why walk now after 5 months of hanging on, if you know things are about to improve.
I think it is because of Bassini. The guy is a crook. They were hoping to be rid of him, but that is now not looking likely, hence Parkinson walking.
I think to most casual observers, it's been obvious that Bolton and Bury would eventually be in a perilous position as they were spending money they just couldn't generate, or increasingly building debt to unmanageable levels at extortionate borrowing rates just to operate normally. Although the previous Bury owner started this mess, the current one is certainly finishing the job off spectacularly
Aided and abetted by the appalling stewardship of the EFL. How, in any circumstances, can some of these owners even get close to being allowed to run a club? People like Anderson. Bassini still being linked with takeovers. It's a disgusting betrayal of the fans by the body that purports to protect their clubs.
Have to agree, I've only had very moderate contact with the EFL (and it was probably about a decade ago now), but it was very evident then that they were much more bothered about making money for themselves rather then helping their clubs or providing support or advantage to their operations. I'd approached them, with assistance from two of their member clubs who I was already working with to try and roll out a service that would benefit more clubs. The response was unless it made the EFL a minimum of £250k for themselves, they wouldn't signpost it into another club. I don't know if they have the same stance, or if its hardened further, but I think we've seen a shift in how governing bodies act in the modern world. Instead of governance, betterment and protection, we have vanity, greed and expansionist ideals.
And yet it's hard not to feel sorry for the true Bury supporters when you read this. All that footballing history, all those memories. Must be heart breaking. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49414602
