Four games now since we kept a clean sheet.
I hope we get back to basics and start working on our defending again tomorrow.
League record has us conceding one goal per game so far.

We need to be tougher at the back.
That then gives our forwards an extra boost, as it means they score - we win!

    Come on Reds

    :you reds:

Totally agree. However, I think if we adapt our formation to 3-5-2 and have an extra centre back to come across it would cover Williams and Fryers getting forward. I'd play Jackson at the expense of Mcgeehan or Bahre.

Didn't they try Fryers as the holding player in one game?
    Was he any good?

I think they did pre season in one of the matches and he showed some good touches. I was thinking more in terms of keeping him out wide bringing Jackson into the middle of defence and playing three central midfielders.

It'll be tough given Wycombe are in fine form at the minute, think they've won their last 5 at home. Just need to not panic when crosses come in, deal with the second ball if it drops and make sure the midfield tracks back to help. Simple....

Matty Appleby. Underrated, when thinking about our successful teams.

Hope we start leaving someone on the far corner of the 18 yard box when defending corners. We’re giving too many avoidable chances away in that area in my opinion.

One goal a match is half decent to be fair & I take it you were not watching under Harry basset when we got to the play off final 99/2000 season . scored 88 let in 67 , clean sheets were a rare thing but what a fantastic season , it was a case of what ever you score , we"l score one more , loved it .

Our results tend to come in bunches. We conceded 1 in 4 games, then suddenly it's 12 in the next 4.

Does that include penalty shoot outs perchance?

No, only goals scored or conceded during the 90 minutes count , goals in penalty shoot outs are not counted .

We've conceded nine in three. On current form it will be twelve in four. Abysmal for a team at the bottom end - nevermind one supposedly playing for automatic promotion.

I think we have also scored 9 in the last three, not abysmal, however I take your point but I think you can only take goal difference if you include every league game played & not cherry pick a section of games that includes cup results ,if we are basing our analysis towards the outcome of the season regarding promotion / play offs ,than its league form that counts
