Can we turn them into six local derbies?

Saturday was confusing, unpredictable and ultimately magnificent. It has to be acknowledged that the game was on a knifeedge, and I think to anybody there, 4-1 or 5-1 to Sheffield United wouldn't have been a surprising final scoreline after they took the lead. The swapping of Bradshaw for Moncur looked a strange one - especially as we seemed to have surrendered the midfield. But ultimately fighting spirit, togetherness and the fact that as Chris Wilder said, we "wanted it more" turned the game around. A quite amazing outcome given some of the behind-the-scenes reports recently.

Given the tremendous effort put in in the last two games, can our team get themselves up for the match at Portman Road? It looks a dead rubber for the home fans, so I think our dedicated travelling supporters have a big job to do. I hope that we can at least match whatever Bolton do in their tricky home game against in-form Millwall. That would set Saturday's game up brilliantly and also guarantee the atmosphere that helped us in the Blunts game. Leeds will take care of itself, and Jose's comments last week about lack of early season preparation ought to put some spice into his clash with Hecky. What momentum we carry into the Forest and Brentford games will I think be determined by what we are able to achieve in the previous three fixtures, But Bristol and Sheffield United suggests we have found some spirit at last. If we still have a fighting chance on the last day, I can see the Derby game being a big occasion - along the lines of last day fixtures like the Huddersfield ('Great Escape') and Wigan (4-1 and into the playoffs) matches, hopefully with us taking a large away support.

I'm still concerned about the quality of the squad for next season, whatever league we play in. But at the moment that is being compensated for by sheer effort and will to win and it's all about these last six games.
