    Hope they don't show a Bank Holiday or Saturday night.

    My Mum collapsed 3 years back on a BH Monday and was taken to A&E at Barnsley - we were summoned as it looked to be curtains and whilst we waited for her to be admitted to a ward, the A&E dept was inhabited by obnoxious scum who abused the staff, insisted on immediate care etc etc - pissed, drugged up - now sorry, but **** sob stories of their circumstances, if you lack the basic human decency to treat medical staff with a modicum of respect, and trample literally and metaphorically over ill and injured people then basically you need turning into fertiliser, you're no good for society.

    Given how the national media revel in focussing on the negatives of towns like ours I suspect there'll be a lot of that - hope it shows the dedication of those at the sharp end more though.

    Fortunately I haven't come across anything like that but I fear you may be right, they'll be focusing on the negatives, hopefully not though.

    He's responded to a post about Barnsley and Barnsley folk on television.
    Posts like that are driving decent posters away in big numbers, and I'd never have put you in that bracket.

    Barnsley Hsopital... Staff do their best but something very amateur about appointment bookings.. Multiple times arriving with the daughter and being told, oh that was re-scheduled or we don't have any appointments on record, yet we have appointment letters.. So whether that's human or computer error, I can't comment on. Drastically under funded as is the rest of the NHS, Torys and Labour alike have never managed to get on top of the funding aspects..

    Never understood when they were supposedly nearly always at 100% capacity, why did they knock the old psychiatric wards down when they could have been easily refurbed and housed other patients. Now we just have a patch of grass. Bizarre.

    The bracket of trying to publicly belittle a fellow poster and fan with a comment such as the one you made, 'What's that got to do with owt?'.
    As I say, most folk don't respond to stuff like that, just call it a day and leave the forum.
    If you see no wrong in that, that's your lookout.
    I just found it uncalled for when his post actually WAS relevant to the thread.
