Conventional Boiler. 7-day timer. Set to bring hot water and heating on at 6am for a couple of hours. WORKS FINE Set to bring hot water and heating on at 6pm for a few hours. NOTHING. NADA. Times are correct on timer. 3 way valve is setting as expected in airing cupboard. Nothing happening even if I switch both water and heating to constant or 'once'. But guarantee it will all fire up at 6am. Help Shivering, from Bingley.
no idea matey, have you any breakdown cover like HomeServe or Direct line. We have the former and if it goes tits up I just have pay a basic call charge of £50 and then all the servicing/repair etc is covered . I know this does not help you right now,but when you get it fixed take up such cover, its not that expensive either.
Have you tried intentionally setting the clock wrong by 12 hours? That will fool the *******. Just as a bodge, I know it's not a long term solution.
The three way switch (diverter switch) is probably the arguido in this scenario. Got one on our system and it is the work of the devil. Seems designed to frustrate your intentions and arrive at a ridiculous outcome (much like an EU referendum).
