Agree SB. Another element is also the standard of football IMO. That one season we were in the
Premiership, apart from a few tickets that were available on match days , we had a full house most
games due to advanced Season ticket sales and the number of fans the opposition brought with them.

That was a magical season. There was a positive buzz around Town and it gave everyone a real lift
when the glamour teams came to Oakwell. We won seven and drew four at home and if only we had done a bit better away we just might have managed to stay up.

We managed to get 35 points and I read somewhere that from around 1995 to date, 37 points have
been enough to survive. A case of so near yet so far.! The one positive thing that might come out of anyLee/Conway takeover is, that if they do provide the finance to fund a "tilt" at promotion, once that is hopefully achieved, they would have the financial clout to bring the necessary quality into the Club to keep us there.

I personally feel they are not proposing to take us over just to see us remain in the lower reaches of
the Championship. As some have already commented on the BBS, they are profit driven and the only way to realise their objectives , is to see Barnsley as a well established entity in the Premier League.

Just watching his new team against Villa. They're like a load of crabs. Backwards, sidewards, backwards,
sidewards. It must be as boring for Brizzie fans as it was for us.
Bruce is getting more animated by the minute. Two bang average sides.
Hold on... they've just scored 1-0 to Bristol 60 mins gone.

I don't know if this applies still, but I remember a fans meeting after thebCardiffvsemi final. PC said we made more from the Chelsea game, than we did from the semi final. The two clubs in the semi have to hire Wembley. Then after paying that out the rest of the gate money is shared between the two clubs and the FA.

Would explain why the two trips to Wembley didn't bring in as much as you would think.

Lets hope the club are going to be open and transparent with the fans. Seen a comment about Maurice been the invisible man, not the case for me.

    Welcome home Phil.

Don't be a pillock and get yourself banned again lad. You do go too far at times. Anyway, not for me to comment I guess.

I agree a bit of transparency would be nice, though the deal being right all round is the priority.

    Good to see you back.

....... 'a bit of transparency would be nice' ....... what are you suggesting here?
That the club lets the fans know a bit about what's going on?
Wow - now that's a theme that we could really discuss.
    :) :) :)

Of course not. He'll be on his way to Lundwood International.

That's not how this kind of thing works though. It's not Dragons' Den - you don't give everybody a blow by blow account of your thought processes throughout negotiations, you wait until it's signed and sealed and then announce it.
