Just one tiny point.

I wonder how many Championship quality players Hill identified that the board couldn't secure deals for? We know about Norwood, Craig Dawson and Greer. All would have vastly improved the team. When we couldn't get them because other teams kept or signed them then we moved on to the players we were able to get.

Not saying in all cases, some where obviously first choice signings.

 

He's a knob definitely. It's just annoying when people try to have their own facts rather than their own opinions.

 

Absolutely. Just saying that certainly in his second summer he missed out on a whole host of Championship players to other clubs.

Anyway, just a musing. I've said plenty of times that disagreeing about football is a ridiculous reason to get angry at someone, and people seem to be getting right angry about it so I'm going to stop.

That's the whole point of having a cult hero though. They're meant to be proper flawed. That's why they're not a hero.

 

Didn't want to comment on this as the topic is pretty boring but just because you're statistically the worst manager doesn't mean you are the worst manager as it all depends on your budget & circumstances.

E.G David Moyes doesn't finish top half with Man Utd this season - he'd be nowhere near there worst manager statistically, however due to the club's budget & playing staff he'd have to go down as one of there worst.

Yep I bet managers such as Gudjon Thordsan (sp) who let's not forget could only sign players on monthly deals really wishes he had to work under the limitations that Hill had. I look forward to Hill proving us wrong when he's in the Championship with Rochdale.

Different Dawson, that one was a loaner from WBA , I think.

 

Don't think it is because he mentions the other Dawson further down in the post as a 'good player'.

As said elsewhere, I've never rated Dawson. Even at Bury when some think he ran games against us. Can only express an opinion on the games I've seen him play.

He'll hopefully now turn that right round and become captain, topscorer and player of the year while still playing the midfield holding role where we need someone.

Just cos we've signed someone I wouldn't all of a sudden be saying how ace that player is. If I was, then take the piss. At the moment it's not really mattering much, mainly because we always looked a likely destination for him after he left you. I've been preparing for his arrival, might even get his name on my shirt.
