I don't think that it's more useful information than just the number sold, to be honest. It's not like any of us know how funds are distributed within the club, so the only outcome I can see is that it'll give the "Why aren't we spending the millions of pounds down the back of sofa" brigade another figure to add to their imaginary budgets!
I honestly don't see numbers changing a great deal Andy from league to league. It's more a regional thing.
Not quite sure what you're getting at there. I'm saying that I think the number of season tickets sold is an interesting figure to release publically, because it gives us an idea of how much support there is for the club over time. The amount of money brought in is irrelevant, and doesn't give us anything in particular to work with.
Sorry disagree. Much prefer 9500 ST holders at say 2 million than 16000 Season ticket holders at say a similar number because you destroy the walk up ticket sales.
Why would the actual revenue from season ticket sales mean more to you than the actual figure sold. I don't care how much we have made from selling ST. That's the clubs concern. I'm just want to know how many we have sold
You are misunderstanding what he's saying. He isn't saying that it means more to the club from a business sense, he means that t fans it means more because you can see how your clubs support has risen or fallen.
As others have said, I think you're missing my point. To give you a comparison, which isn't perfect but more or less works, I run a pub. As the business owner, I bring in a huge number of different beers, all of which - for various reasons - have (sometimes wildly) different margins. I need to be aware of how much beer I've sold from each cask or keg, and the money that I've made on each one. However, when I'm putting a message on social media, I don't say "We've made £150k turnover this year." (or whatever). I might say "We've sold 400 different beers this year" though, because that's a better and more interesting piece of information for people who don't spend all day trying to run my business.
The only figure that is the business of the supporter is how much the club wants for a new season ticket.
When I read that I'm glad we're us and not them. We came up from the 4th division together as similar clubs, and have spent seasons together in all but the top flight. I often read how poorly were run, how our ground isn't up to scratch and how we lack ambition. People are entitled to their opinions. Anyone that hasn't been to Blundell park, take a good look around next month when we play them in pre season. We're a million miles away. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
A break down into full price / concessions /free tickets sold in terms of numbers would be interesting.
