Fans are singling out individual players as not being good enough, many of these being midfielders but the main problems are the two key areas of conceding and scoring goals. Davies' confidence is shattered at the moment but according to people who have watched him Townend is not a good enough replavement. The problem with the present plan is it does not allow an older experienced keeper to be signed but to my recollection the only keeper we've developed and sold on for money is Scott Flinders. The strikers have no physical presence and neither Ugbo or Thiam will score enough goals to assist Bradshaw's contribution and a partner for him is a must come January. The midfield has had several changes the last three games but with the addition of a fit Isgrove and selecting players in their strongest positions could be improved. If the Takeover does go ahead it may take up to March and be too late to avoid relegation. If this does happen and the club refuse to release some of the millions sat in the bank don't blame the manager, blame the management and the iflexibility of the plan.
Thiam will never start producing until he gets a run in the team. In and out, an odd cameo here and there - no good to anyone. He has bags of skill and will shoot from anywhere. Once they start flying in, and he gets a few 90-minute matches under his belt he will get better and better. I know he has scored nine but, for me, Tom Bradshaw might be the one to drop out if we can bring a better partner in for Thiam. It's all speculation of course - Tom might notch a hat trick on Saturday and end up with 25 for the season. We know nothing, obviously
You can but it does become monotonous after a while .... we know changes need to be made due to the health of our owner. Hopefully this can be resolved in the not too distance future. At that point I'd like to thank him for putting in his own money , helping us to get to Wembley 4 times, Cardiff once , winning 3 trophies and keeping our status in the championship for the majority of that time. I know about 50 clubs that wouldn't mind that kind of failure
Big striker is needed. We need that option for set plays, when we are playing garbage (like at the moment). Not seen Walton. Certainly a failing at the start of the season was not signing a better keeper, if Walton isn't ready. I'd certainly drop Davo. He has singlehandedly lost us the last 3 games, as he was at fault for at least one in each game & we scored zilch. (I am not singling him out though, I've already been critical of nearly all of our other "senior" players, other than Adam Hammill & Tom Bradshaw.
Don't forget about the number of times he has made superb saves to keep us in a game, being the last man everyone notices his mistakes, but don't always praise him for the points he makes for us
Alternatively we could be just in the middle (or hopefully at the end) of a bad run, which all teams have, the squad might be good enough anyway, we may start picking points up again, and we may still finish mid table or even higher.
I agree, but he has been poor recently & frankly patchy all season. Hecky said as much in his interview today.
As my facial hair is mostly ginger, and so coarse and brush-like that it's painful to keep for more than four days, I'm proposing blowvember.
Thiam has started 2 games and involved in 5. Hardly enough time to be making judgements on how few goals he'll contribute surely?
